I asked the older gentleman sitting behind this unusual C7 if he had been one of the volunteer pilots of the Flying Tigers. He told me he was 14 years old when the Flying Tigers were kicking the crap out of the Japanese in 1942 in their P40's . He always wished he had been a part of the action so, he has more or less joined the team with his C7!
Reminds me of this mustang I seen at a car show here in Lincoln a couple years ago.

I was there and it was a fun show. I don’t think they judged by class, rather people’s choice and judged categories only. It seemed the cars that won in the judged class had a lot of mods like Lambo doors and other custom paint, etc. The host club also had their cars in the show, but were judged separately.
Glad the rain held off.
Glad the rain held off.
couple of ideas I may incorporate into my ride.
Your car looked sweet.
I won't be back to this show very soon. Your observation's are
correct.
The weather was so-so. I got caught in the rain on the way home.
Next week a NCCC Concours Series, it will be my last.
Later.

I've never seen so many wings and things on Vettes before or since I lived in Tampa! I see it's still the same way.
Thanks for sharing the pix. I was a member of that club while I lived there.

Melting Slicks
My Uncle flew the Hump in WW2 as well. I have his CBI patch, in leather, off his flight jacket. The blood chit didn't survive. Stupid Florida roaches had eaten on it, and it fell to pieces when we tried to unfold it.

After my dad passed away in 1998, my mother evidently tossed his flight jacket with blood chit intact. He told me about a Japanese Zero that came alongside their wingtip, evidently out of ammo. They just stared at each other. When my wife was recovering in the hospital after surgery later that year, I walked past a closed door to a patient' s room. A child had drawn a picture of a C46 flying over the mountains, with a Zero flying next to it. I regret not having knocked on the door.

As the OP and a veteran, I really appreciate the direction this thread has taken. For those of you who do not know what a "blood chit" is (mentioned in several posts, above), here's a link...
