80MPH Nightmare - Chevy says it’s my problem
Bought a new 18’ Grand Sport off the showroom floor. Right after my 500 mile oil change on the way home, my car was making this extremely annoying scratching sound, like, metal rubbing metal. Turned right around, they quickly looked at it and told me they would need it for a few days to fix it properly. 23 days later, they give me back my car. On the way home, it is making the noise, but at higher speeds, I live 30 miles away off the turnpike. So now when I get to around 80mph, this ear piercing noise occurs, and feels like my rear end is gong to fall out. I turn right back around, I leave it with them again. Finally get my car back and now I get, “can not duplicate customers complaints”. We are not allowed to go at speeds giving the problems. Of course I had my PDR in valet mode, clearly showing the test driver going over 90MPH, clearly hearing the issue. The audio goes from audio to nothing so I’m sure they have a device to block the audio when they test drive it.
The entire time I have been in communication with Chevy, My Rep really didn’t care about my problems and I feel like I bought the biggest mistake of my life. My Chevy Rep, just called me a little bit ago and said, sorry there is NOTHING more we can do for you, the technician can not go above the speed limit, Theodore can not test for the noise, therefore they can not fix this noise and vibration.
So basically they had my car for almost a month, they heard the issue before they touched it, now they can’t fix it and they basically tell me it’s not their problem because they can’t test it in a safe environment, and actually said NOT to go above the speed limits and I wouldn’t have a problem.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
My Rep was talking about a buy back then all of a sudden, bam just wiped their hands of it, due to 80MPH.

WTF this is a feel-bad story if i have ever read one.
Maybe the OP should try a different dealership? In the meantime...GM customer service isn't exactly helping things with that type of BS response....you spend this kind of money on a brand new car, halo car, and this is how they treat you? WTF!

Since the car is touted as track ready the 80 mph excuse is patently bogus. The ride along idea is one solution. Any place nearby where the car can be put on a dyno and run up to that speed if they are sticking to the excuse? May be time to get a lemon lawyer involved, or threaten to do so at least. Good luck.

Contact Chevy customer servise here on the forum or call them and open a case...I'd say your dealership is at fault here...Sounds a bit bogus to me. Might also call the owner/GM of the dealership and try to resolve it amicably, giving them the chance before you lawyer up.

Not the point, defaria. It's about 97 mph. If the tech took it up this fast, like this dealer tech did (who eventually got fired as a result), he'd hear the noise. The point is not to go fast enough to impress YOU, but to hear the damn noise.

Check the interweb and see what the lemon laws are in your state and proceed from there. Remember where nice guys finish.

Yes it does - unless you have an early car that hasn't had the PDR upgrade performed.
The OP has a 2018 model year, so the valet mode will not record any audio.
