Default Spooky Halloween experience!

I accidentally turned on "Rev Match" for the first time while leaving the dentist, obviously not adequately paying attention.

I was going to stop and restart but had no convenient place to do so, hence I left it on the entire trip home. BIZAARE, is all I can say! So, some actually use this robotic function? Intentionally?

Oh no.....how did you ever make it home?????

You know, if you blip one of the paddles again, it turns off Rev Match. I use mine ALL the time.

For the life of me, I don't know why you wouldn't use it. Yes you can turn it off by hitting the paddle again.

I guess I just prefer to control the revs, as well as the shifting of gears... okay, I'm an old codger. Good to know how to turn it off on-the-fly if I ever do it, again. Thanks!

I was very against the Rev matching feature when I first bought my c7. I really enjoyed the old school way of driving a manual, however once I started using it I found myself using it more often than not.

Don't like it. Tried it, but can't get used to that engine surge. I'd rather do it myself, but then again I've been driving a stick for 45 years.

I too use it all the time. It’s hard waiting for the car to warm up before turning it on.

So have I, and ARM is the best thing that ever happened to the manual transmission. Some of us "old folks" are able to recognize the benefits of technology when it significantly improves the driving experience without taking away from the joys of driving a manual.

The first thing I do every time I start the car is turn it on. However, on rare occasion I do turn it off just to remember how things used to be. I don't miss the way things used to be.

It absolutely makes a manual car quicker around a track, allows the driver to concentrate more on more efficient braking without having to heel/toe, and keeps the car much better planted because it's way better than any human can ever hope to rev-match or heel/toe. The pros at Spring Mt. love it so much, they don't even bother teaching heel/toe anymore.

I would enjoy the car much less without rev match.

rcooper, you stole my usual line about reading the Manual, which I did. I didn't bother, admittedly, with that section since I never anticipated EVER needing it and the rest of its 360 pages, plus another 120 pages for the Infotainment Manual seemed like it should meet my needs. Obviously, I goofed. But, hey, no problem... always those here to provide guidance and adequate correction of the errors of my ways.

Rev match is one of my favorite features. Down shift from 4 to 2 and listen to the engine rev and exhaust pops

I'll admit one thing about rev match. When I'm downshifting to accelerate, it is smooth.
Sometimes I'll kick it in to accelerate, but then shut it off.
I don't like it for DD around town. I use downshifting to decelerate.

I turn my rev match as soon as I start the car. I wish there was a way for it to stay on so I would not have to turn it on. Even the drivers at Spring Mountain use the rev match.
