Default Cracked stock wheel

I got 9k miles on my OEM wheel and original tire. Due to my aggressive alignment I had cording and I went in to swap out to some new street tires. Tire shop calls me to tell me, your rim is cracked, we don't want to take your tire off. Pretty shocking as I have never hit any major holes with the wheel. It did two track days, with never a wheel off, and 9k street miles. Wheel should be fine and was never used outside its operating parameters. Hopefully it gets replaced. Pending a response from Abel.

Is that picture "before" they mounted a new tire on the wheel?

You sure they didn't crack it.
If you have tire and wheel protection you should be good to go.

According to rb185afm, the tire shop "didn't want to take the tire off", so it's probably the old tire.

Who/what is Able?

Able is great and really experienced....

This is why I'm glad I bought the tire and wheel warranty....too many stories like this, may not know until I need to get new tires that there is actually a problem.

One of these days, when I can afford it, I'll get a set of forged wheels.
For now I have the tire and rim plan to cover my A$$.

Yes, they popped the bead and stopped. The tire shop has changed countless tires over the years for me. They are squared away. The stock OEM original tire is still on the rim. It has not been removed.

Fully understood by me to both above. Just a gentle reminder since Abel is a great dealer on the Forum.
