Michelin Alpin PA4 Winter Tire review
Tested them in 14f/-10c weather with icy roads. Went past so many cars that were stuck in the ditch as well as many cars spinning and struggling to move. What surprised me most was there is 3 spots where I have to make turns that always gave me issues even with winter tires when I drove a RWD Mustang and the Corvette didn't struggle at all. Very confident with these as I witnessed so many cars struggling to go and these tires never gave any issue.

Phil Minch, Assistant Chief Corvette Engineer and Tadge’s Assistant, and Harlan each had a test set of the PA4s last winter in Detroit, and loved them, Phil saying, “my car moved around in the snow like it was a tank”
The ZR1 testing at Kapuskasing last winter was also wearing them.

Also - the PTM in C7 is superb. It doesn't feel intrusive like other cars I've owned.

What he said . . . PTM makes C7s so-equipped superb winter driving machines on proper winter tires, as long as deep snow isn't involved to the point where ground clearance becomes the problem.

I had Alpins on my car for the past two winters, didn't really like them so I dropped my car off at the Kal Tire that my company deals with to put on a set of Nokians. I must say however that despite being two years old and driven on a lot of dry above average temp roads they still managed pretty good getting into work today, no issues at all.

Interesting quote from the Tire Rack description of the Alpins for the Base/Z51/Z06/GS:
Though they cannot be labeled as run-flat tires, tires branded with MOExtended or MOE on their sidewalls offer run-flat-like characteristics by delivering limited temporary extended mobility after a puncture results in complete loss of air pressure. Because MOExtended or MOE tires do not have the same speed and distance endurance of conventional run-flat tires, they should not be substituted in any situation where a conventional run-flat tire is required. To confirm what your vehicle needs, check our Original Equipment tire listing for your year, make and model or see your vehicle owner's manual.
They seem to be a semi-runflat. Interesting.
Tire Rack is still not showing any A/S tires for the widebody C7.

will take a video this weekend, trying to get my PDR to work it doesn't like my SD card. But it's -20 with the wind here and the roads aren't plowed and I was passing all the cars in the ditch and even made it up steep inclines. Amazing tires. If I can make it through my street I can make it anywhere, the snow is so deep on my block.

The Michelin PS AS3+ UHP all season in both runflat and standard versions are available in OEM sizes for your car. However, you made the right choice for your climate.

Ultimately I would've wanted Blizzaks, they, IMO are the best winter tires. I ran them for 3 seasons on my C5, never got stuck and I live in Bankview on top of a hill and cut through Mt.Royal to get to work both areas of which are never plowed, I could take 17 ave to 4th street but that takes way too long on a heavy snow day. When I got my C7 I quickly ditched the MPSS and went with Continental DWS which were useless in the snow so I bought Michelin Alpins for the rear and Continental Winter Contacts for the front. I found that the Michelin Alpins didn't fare as well as the Blizzaks, they did the job but lacked the confidence that the Blizzaks gave me. This year I'm going to try the Nokian Hakkapelitta R2 mainly because of price point, so far I've spent 4k just in tires in 4 years of ownership of my car, that's way too much.
Good news however, because Kal Tire f'kd up ordering the tires for my car and I'm on a business account, they are giving me the Nokians for free. I was supposed to have them on yesterday but a screw up caused a delay until Wednesday so that will save me about 700 bucks my cost. Once again a big shout out to Kal Tire.

Whoever told you that the Alpins were the only performance winter tire for your car was/is FOS.

I have Michelin Alpin PA4 Winter Tire on my G S Collector. Ready for some cooler weather driving. Looks like these tires will do it. In 30 degree weather you do have lots of traction, just warm the tires up first. Really like them so far.
