The document should be 4873206. I say should, because the newest copy I'm aware of dates back to Jan and does not specifically call out the Grand Sport, the Z06 w/Z07, or any 2018.

Interesting. When I brought my 17 GS in the other day they tech initially said it wasn't available until end of Q1/2018 but then he came back and told me the update was available and they performed the work. Now I'm wondering if there will be another update for the GS and, will they install it for free once it's available. I'm noticing small differences with the update but nothing terribly significant.

Third,

I was just relaying the confusion and conflicting information on whether the latest GS calibration has been released. Perhaps you have it, but I haven't seen the definitive answer yet.

There's been 3 Grand Sports that I can remember who were able to check the TIS site after they paid for the upgrade, and they verified that they had the same calibration as the 2017 Z06 w/o Z07 listed in the document. It'd just be nice to see "Grand Sport" in black and white on an official document that we could show to dealers.

If nobody comes up with a copy by April 1, I'm going to buy a 3 day pass to GMs service info site. I need to download some schematics anyway.

This should not be this hard.

Now that I've had this upgrade for a few weeks I can definitely tell the differences. Impacts are so much better controlled. That in itself would be worth the cost.

I've come to really like tour mode. Before, tour felt too soft and disconnected. The steering felt overboosted, the suspension too soft, and I never felt confident going into corners quickly. I would always switch to sport for any real corner. Despite nothing actually changing with the steering calibration, tour now feels great in corners. The steering feels closer in weight to sport mode and the suspension is a lot more confidence inspiring.

I just scheduled the update at Bryner Chevy for next week and they said the car has to stay at the dealer overnite. I mentioned the response here on ask Tadge and they said I will have to sign a disclaimer when I take the car.
I don't have a problem with that, but i expected them to be much better informed.

Maybe Bryner doesn't want customers to feel "it didn't do that much" and then be unhappy with the money spent, so they're suggesting the overnight sit for full effect to take place.

I'd prefer to just drive it home, knowing the 8 hr sit is still needed for temperature equalization to occur.. (whatever that is..!)

I don't think the temperature stabilization affects "feel" to any significant degree. And, per Jim Mero's guidance, it can occur anywhere once the car sits for 8 hours, and anytime after the reflash.

FYI, I got the 3 day pass to Service Information and I pulled down the latest copy of the 4873206 document. It does not list any calibration numbers.

At the bottom of the document it has a "helpful" suggestion
"The listed applications may change, if your application is not listed above please go to www.chevroletperformance.com to check for the latest application list."

The upgrade isn't listed on the Chevy performance site, so you need to go digging through the virtual catalog to find it. As of right now, the catalog still has the old info that doesn't mention Grand Sport or any 2018.

So I emailed Chevy Performance customer assistance, and after two days they finally replied and told me to call the Chevy Performance phone number.

This is absolutely ridiculous. I really think when Tadge said it would cost them too much to back-port programming updates to older cars (things like the 2018 track mode displays) , what he really meant was they lack the competence to implement such a program. The amount of confusion and incomplete data related to this upgrade is shameful.

And they're saying they're close to being ready to design, sell and service a car that drives itself.

Amen to that notion. If they do that sort of thing they should have their ducks in a row before announcing it. Still waiting for a definitive part # for the 2017 FE6 .

Actually, I felt no difference right after the upgrade when I drove my car home. I let it sit overnight. The next day, after reaching operating temperature, the change took effect and was very obvious.

Going with a set of two-piece BC forged...brushed lip, brushed tinted center. I'm also giving the Continental ExtremeContact tires a try. The tires are 3 lb. less in front, and 1 lb. less in the rear. Wheels will probably be 4-9 pounds less each in front and rear. I'll report back on the difference in feel once the setup is installed.

Blueray
Curious did you make it over to Bryner and have you noticed any improvements?

Temperature affects the viscosity of the shocks and how they perform.
So the Temperature equalization supposedly takes into account the Temperature of the oil in the shocks after it sits 8 hours.
Like a Zero point.
Then when the shocks heat up from the engine heat/exhaust heat etc the controller compensates for the different viscosity.
That supposedly keeps the shocks working the same at all different temperatures/viscosity.
I don't know though if this is something new with the Upgrade.
Because when I had a GM OEM Controller installed, the shocks used to ride a bit stiffer when cold, and then worked more compliantly after they became heat soaked.
And every time I drove the car, there was consistently a noticeable difference between when the shocks were cold and when they were warmed up.
YMMV

I got mine done on Friday. Have not really been able to drive the car since it's been so cold here. My dealer also didn't know about it costing $350 I told them because it was the right thing to do.

Pretty painless on my end. Also got the Android Auto update done, but that cost me .5 an hour of labor to get it flashed.

I've had some good seat time in my GS the last two weeks. Driven in Sport, Touring, Eco a lot.
The suspension tune upgrade has been great. So much more composed yet not out of character - its still a corvette.
I have a couple secret, no traffic places, with curves and some irregularities where I can open it up to 100mph or more.
Very nice. Time and money well spent.

Has anyone heard if there has been an upgrade released yet which is exclusive to 2017 Grand Sport models?

It's my understanding that GS owners are getting the 2017 Z06 calibration, and if that's the same for the GS, I wish it was listed as so in the catalog.

Same question here for a 2017 Grand Sport! If anyone has had it done could they look at their receipt and provide the part number?

I've tried with two dealers giving them the bulletin number but no help! One fellow spent 10 minutes and was willing to spend more but told him I'd get a part number first. Parts department needs a part number. Service Scheduler says buy from parts then they will install.

You can't buy a software calibration from the parts department. The service department needs to call Techline. Techline then bills the dealer for the software. It's all spelled out in the bulletin.

Either these people can't read, or they're just clutching at excuses to not do it.
