I work at gm dealership..download is free to customer...when customer brings vehicle in we call gm with vin..they send download to our techs laptop..when they do that they also charge dealership 350.00..we install download to vehicle.. We put the 350.00 on repair Order just like any other warranty repair..we use the labor opp supplied with the bulletin and submit it to gm with the 350.00 and labor and they reimburse us like any other warranty repair..

You sure about that one? I saw it messes with the throttle response. That is part of my tune tables.

The MSRC Controller doesn't mess with anything.
It simply Reads the sensors in the car and adjusts the shocks according to the input.
Throttle input is one of them, and it doesn't matter what your Throttle table is like or does, Tuned or not.
The MSRC Controllers Only reads it

I made an appointment for spring to get this update, the Android Auto, and to have them check if I have the latest Performance Timers in my cluster (some 2016's didn't I guess).

Good! Free to the customer, magic money between the dealer and GM.

I'll get it done.

Since the SEMA announcement specified it would be available in December, presumably, this hasn't yet been done at any dealerships yet. I'm pretty sure dealers are only going to get reimbursed for the labor, and they'll have to bill the customer $350 for the download.

The isn't like a software reflash under warranty to correct a technical issue. It's the same as paying for a nav database update, which the customer must pay for.

Obviously, that will be clear in a couple of weeks.

Just trying to bring folks back to reality. Everyone assumed the dealership explanation above was accurate when it isn't even available yet, and hasn't been done. I doubt dealers have much info on this yet.

I will be shocked if GM offered a pure performance upgrade (unrelated to fixing problems) totally free going back 4 MYs. It would set an entirely new precedent.

This. ^^^^^

You purchase the software file for $350 from GM for the mag ride upgrade.

Dealer will download that software file and install it at no charge to you.

If you want the upgrade be prepared to pay up.

Pretty straight forward.

My best friend is the exclusive Corvette Tech for over 30 yrs at a well known and respected Chevrolet dealer, and he said it costs $350.... I trust and value what he says over what anyone posts..

Seems to me that if it were free to the vette owner, why would there have been a mention from GM about $350 ? Just so we know what a good deal we’re getting if in fact it is free. Doesn’t seem likely. So……………… the el thrifty crowd better plan on paying just to be on the safe side ( or don’t do the upgrade and make do with the older mag ride version).
