Looking at new GS-2017 or 2018?
Looking to pick up a new Grand Sport 2LT. Found two cars at MacMulkin similarly equipped. The 2018 is $3k more.
Looking at changes between the 2017 and 2018 MYs I didn't see any significant updates. PDR received 4 additional channels, however I don't intend to track the car, so not sure how much I would use the PDR or the added channels that the 2018 provides...
Looking for feedback to see if the additional $3k is worth if for the one model year improvement.

The most useful, in my mind, is the HUD is a little more adjustable for easier viewing.
You can go here and look at the slides showing what was new for the 2018 MY:

If you plan on keeping your Vette more than a few years get the 2017.

There are no major changes between the 17 and 18. Just in case you don't know, the 19's will be introduced soon, but no MY changes have been announced yet. The discounts wont be as good as the 17 and 18's though.

If owning one year newer is worth $3K to you, then go for it. If not, then save the money and buy the 17. Ask yourself this question, when you go to trade in only 3 or 4 years, will the 2018 bring $3K more? The answer is most likely it won't. But some feel it's worth the money to buy a year newer. I wouldn't.

As I posted above in a similar thread; I suggest you choose the C7 which color combination and options are more likely to satisfy you long term as opposed to so much concern over model year. Little difference in either and both will have the same warranty.

To answer the question, you will need to know how long you plan to keep it: 1-3 years, the 2018 will bring more than the $3,000 difference ta time of resale, year 4 about the same between the two 5+ years, you won't get the $3k back.
As far as the cars, the PDR difference, unless you are actually racing the car, isn't a big deal; the update to the rear camera (at least to me) isn't noticeable. I went with a 2018 over a 2017 in June to replace my 38 month old 2014 C7, but 2-3 years is all I plan to keep the current car.

I can't begin to tell you how easy and seamless the process with them has been and their team was on the ball getting paperwork to my credit union and they took care of lining up stuff with the shipper for me. Can't want to get it.
Just know that #4390 is MINE!
Great to work with

nope, and nope. He's looking at cars that are on the lot, so no they weren't painted in the new shop, and there aren't any engineering differences between 17 and 18 as was pointed out.

I was in the same spot. Was trading in a 2013 60th Annv. Callaway Found a 2017 GS in the color I loved, but could of had a 2018 for 3500.00 more but wasn't crazy about the color, so I went with the 17. I love it..
