I picked up my new '17 Z51 mn7 today and the chrome wheels look incredible. I figure this picture should end the argument-chrome wins!

Polished, chromed wheels will be around as long as the average age of a Corvette buyer is over 50 !!! JMHO
First Vette at 19 - had polished American Racing Torque Thrust; now 69 and have almost always had chromed or polished wheels. (Trans Ams had light gold powder coated and aluminum honeycomb wheels; and the 1988 35th Anniversary had white powder coated wheels).
Guess I've just been practicing to be old.
IIRC all Vettes in the first 5 generations had either chromed/polished/aluminum wheels or hubcaps, so guess we're all order than we realize.
I find it humorous (and a little sad) how many people seem to want to foist their opinion on others. Can we agree that all of our cars look great and that different people have different preferences??
Chrome will never go away, not until wheels themselves go away.
I agree with you. Yes, I am over fifty. I can see black wheels on the track. Face it, most people that drive Corvettes want their car and themselves to be noticed.; not obscure. That's part of the American "muscle" and "sports" car culture. Of course it's just my opinion but I think some people just don't want to be bothered with keeping their wheels clean so they try to convince others the "sinister" blacked out wheel wells look good. It may be they don't want the extra expense and maintenance of chrome. Black wheels are another trend. Look where it started. I don't want my Corvettes and Camaros to look like "rat rods' to me.
This is my favorite OEM wheel. However I'm an admitted wheel snob so I usually side step the black vs. chrome debate and purchase aftermarket forged that offer a variety of finishes.

Our cars look good with Black or Chrome wheels. As mentioned, if you are over 50 you like chrome.
