Default C7 Z06 Splitter Protection

Hello All.

This is my first post. I joined today.

I purchased my first Corvette two weeks ago.
I have a 2017 Z06 with the Z07 performance package and manual transmission.

It is awesome!

i have a steep driveway and have already scraped the underneath of the
splitter.
I am considering having a stainless steel skid panel fabricated.
But before I do that I eanted to ask if anyone knows
if Chevy has a solution or if there are any aftermarket
products out there that the forum can recommend.

Thanks

Consider a Bridget curb ramp. At my prior house it was the only way I could get my ZR1 in and out of the driveway without scraping

There's a thread on the Protekt product. I installed mine a few days ago on my day old 2017 GS. Nice product.

No need to fabricate one from stainless, there is a company that makes just what you need for Ferrari, Lamborghini etc! It's called Scrape Armor.

This is a PDF of my install: http://netwelding.com/Splitter_Protectors.pdf

Below are pics of my Grand Sport with Stage 2 aero package after install and about a month later when I had to go out of a steep driveway! It protrudes ~3/16 inches lower than the splitter lip and took all the abuse! The material is very slippery, feels more slippery than Teflon! It mostly used factory bolts, easy install.

Installed

Scrapes on Scrape Armor but carbon fiber splitter is fine!

I installed Scrape Armor. It is kind of pricey but it works and is easy to install.

If you can get around scraping, just stick with the z06 poverty splitter unpainted. Scrape it, scuff it, don’t paint it. Make it save your front bumper. Well worth the 100$, no harm no foul, replace when it’s done.

only time I would put an expensive cf piece on a area of the car that I know would experience scraping is if I have all my roads/routes planned out. But then you’ll never have fun with the car if you never explore new roads
