I had the same thought. Isn't there a thread about a car bought from Carmax that was tuned, engine blew, and had a hard time to get someone to cover the cost. That's why I never buy used, been their, done that, don't need some one else's headache...

Someone pulled a muffler shop special on that thing hacked off the factory exhaust and rigged them up some Flowmasters....

Basically, to un-bubba that mess, you'll need to buy a new cat back system, either aftermarket or stock...NPP..

Some things never cease to amaze me, the stuff people do to their cars....

I think I'd be looking at a new Corsa cat back system right about now..

John, as said it looks like someone took the cheap way out with the install, but it can be easily fixed. There's are stock systems for sale on the forum (see below) if that's the way you want to go. Or, as Zymurgy said you can buy the dual tips only, and keep the Flowmaster's. A little time, a little effort, plus a bit of money, and you'll be good as new.

Example:

If you have engine problems under warranty and they have done things to your engine to void your warranty, you are screwed.

Not that most people ever look at exhaust systems but I do. Looks terrible, I wouldn’t be able to stand it. What do people think sometimes?

I don't think anyone has asked the most important question, how does it sound? May look crappy, but does it sound good?

Got to say they don't look very good, I prefer the look of the 4 tips out the back but to each his own

Lots of possibilities:

I had Flowmasters on my S10 when between Vettes. IMO it sounded better than NPP.

The Flowmasters for the C7 are expensive, ~$1500. These mufflers look smaller but if the OP is happy with the sound then your idea is a good one.

Might even be able to buy clamp on tips that fit. Just cut the long pipes and add.

What wrong with that picture? That is not the back of a Corvette. Isn't the license plate directly above the exhaust, not the "Corvette" name? And there is nothing next to the exhaust surround. I see grass! What am I missing?

Okay, I looked again. The grass is probably a reflection. But why does it say "Corvette" between the exhaust and license plate?

The "Corvette" you are seeing is the bottom portion of a color-matched license plate frame.

Not stock. What would compel someone to change it up?

FWIW. My C6 had 4 pipes.

Yeah, a prior owner had to change the exhaust as it comes with four tips from the factory.

I'm new to corvettes but I think it sounds great. I will try to make a video for you all to judge. I agree it doesnt look right. The car was purchased from Miamis number one vette dealer (new and used) so I have hope its not too messed up. My goal is to get this car back to where it needs to be.

Luckly I think it sounds great and the car is allot of fun but yegh for a 2015 It has a few issues. Next one will most likely be 100% new but this one was a seemingly good deal. Thanks to everyone for your help! Fingers crossed this is a little issue with no connected issues.
