Now that's encouraging news for me.

As long as there is no snow on the ground/roads, I hope to drive somewhat through the winter, if only to the grocery store, gym, and post office.

Ordered mine today from Belle, and they should be in by next Thursday. Yay!

This is great feedback because I switched from Bridgestones (they sucked) to AS3 on my 135is and have loved, loved, loved them. I was considering replacing the Pilot Sports on the C7 with them, so you all helped me decide.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned in this thread is that many tire reviewers have remarked recently that the gap between UHP all-seasons and summer max performance tires has narrowed considerably in the last couple of years. It was specifically noted that the new AS3+ performs very close to most summer max performance tires in summer conditions. Obviously, it's light years better in cool/cold temps.

Ordered a set of 19"/20" for my new FE2 code optioned 2017 Stingray from Discount Tire Store near my home.

The Mgr allowed me 50% of retail price trade-in of the OE Michelin Summer Only ZPs with 414 miles on them - toward the purchase of a new set of Michelin A/S 3+ ZPs.

$919.51 complete difference including Road Hazard Insurance:

Steve,
I'm not comfortable with driving the Michelin Summer Only tires through the Winter here in Dallas, TX.
I elected to take a 50% loss on the OE tires while they're new, and be done with it, upgrading to A/Ses from Discount Tire.

THX, for your replies/thread here.

I'm planning to put them on my Stingray if they work as well as I expect on my SS

I wouldn't hold your breath if you have a GS/Z06 and want this tires. They just became available for the C6 GS/Z06 and the C6 Z06 has been around for 11 years. I put them on my 13 GS and they are fantastic tires.

Thanks for the review and all the updates.

I am close to needing new tires myself and plan to go with the same as Steve. I won't have too many sub 30º days here on the Oregon coast, but there is always the rain! I trust the tread design on the A/S tires is a big improvement on wet roads, as well?

The previous owner of my car had just put OEM PP ZP on before he sold it.
It was 40* when I test drove the car and it was slipping and sliding.
I hated the chrome wheels so I knew wheels and tires were in my near future.
I found a set of used wheels and picked up a set of tires from DiscountTireDirect.com
I went with A/S3+ non run flat... The car is so quiet now. After mount and balance with tire rebates I am under 1500.00.

I went from Run flats on my wife's Cadillac to the regular A/S3+ last year and what a difference.
So I figured, I have AAA, if I get a flat they will either tow me home, or my wife will come with a jack and wheel.

The rim protection is a little better with the AS3+

Before: With Chrome Wheels

After: With Machine face wheels and A/S3+

While I didn’t store it, I didn’t drive it much when temps dropped below 30, or at all with any snow or ice on the roads. I have a Jeep for that.

Looking at the tread in the first post they have to be a LOT better on wet roads. I’ll find out since mine isn’t a garage queen.

Michelin C7 winter tires:

The AS3+ are available in both the base and Z51 sizes, runflat and non-runflat.`

For the GS/Z06, the Alpin tires (real winter stuff, not All Season)(non-runflats) were available from Tire rack, but not shown today. Possibly discontinued but most likely just out of stock.
For the GS/Z06, the AS3+ are not yet available but reported to being tested right now at the Owner School in Nevada. Only Michelin knows when/if they will be available for sale.

This is what the tread pattern looks like with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ on my C6. These were installed yesterday. My stock 2014 tires would not go at all in snow last year. $1114 out the door at Belle.

Come on, Michelin - quit teasing us!

Finish your dang testing and put these things on the market for sale to us GS/Z06 owners!

I run AS 3+ with 550RW. No issues and I think turn in is actually better than the PSS tires. Much more sure footed on wet roads.

These tires that everyone is complimenting, are they the run flat or non run flat tires?

C7, for the base and Z51 versions, the Michelin AS3+ is available both as a runflat and as a non-runflat. Your choice, choose wisely.

The Michelin "Alpin" winter tires, in whatever sizes they happen to be available this week, appear to have always been non-runflats.

Just like the PSS, the AS3+ is available in both standard and runflat versions in OEM narrow body sizes.

How many here are using the run flat version, and is the ride and turning issues better than the original Pilot SS? Any big difference between the AS3 run flat and non run flat? I am in a warm climate so no worries on a cold weather tire. I really would like to stay with a run flat if they are greatly improved with the AS3, but willing to make sacrifices for a non run flat if there is a big difference.
