Default I whacked my stage 2 splitter

It's broken in pieces. I took it off the car and lo and behold, I don't worry about the damn thing scraping every time I pull into a parking place or driveway. Great peace of mind.

I may leave it off. Don't know whether to spend the $500 for another one. Not carbon fiber - just carbon flash fiberglass.

What say you? Yea or nay on replacing it an why.

Just put a plastic/flexible stage-1 (poverty) splitter on. Like $120

leave it off and you'll whack the front bumper fangs, which is a lot more expensive to repair.

If you replace it, do yourself a favor and buy a Curb Alert.

I have an extra C7 GTX Carbon Fiber Splitter for a good price. PM me for details.

I hit a rabbit with my poverty splitter doing about 55 mph and when I stopped to check for damage, there was none.

Personally I LOVE both the lowered look and the stage 2 splitter, but it is a combo for expensive damage. Since owning Vettes, there is seemingly way more trash and road kill on the highways although perhaps that crap has always been out there and I didn't seem to notice.

replace it. Stage 2 looks too good not to have it. You’ll be more careful this time around.

FWIW, I want a stage-2 splitter really bad but I drag the stage-1 like crazy entering and exiting driveways and parking lots. I can't justify the inevitable trashing/cracking.

I'm guessing the rabbit would beg to differ with you regarding the damage results.

If you decide to replace it consider a Scrape Armor Splitter Protector.

However it only fits a Stage 2/3 GM splitter that is carbon fiber. OEM's are painted carbon flash OR visible carbon fiber but BOTH are made from carbon fiber. Probably will not fit an aftermarket splitter since it is designed to fit the OEM splitter perfectly.

Below are 2 pics of 1) my install AND 2) after I scraped it going down a very steep driveway. Went up OK, scarping only my side air dams but could NOT back down onto busy street!

As installed.

Scraped going down steep driveway. Splitter unharmed, as designed. Can't help if smashed into a curb but solves typical minor scrapes. Had scraped the bottom of my aftermarket splitter I had on my 2014 C7 and damaged the bottom. Now that is protected on the Stage 2 aero OEM option on my Grand Sport.

In the end I guess I will replace it. I really like the look of the front end with it on. That splitter is only 5" off the ground! Since this is my DD, the splitter gets a lot of road rash and paint chipping. May look into getting it covered with XPEL.

Stage 2 GM Only is a great looking splitter.Have you priced a look correct Stage 2 GM?
Want one bad. Can't justify wasting one or being anymore careful. Stage 1 Has wear.I believe Stage 2 is lower in the Destruction Zone

I agree that for the street, just use the stage 1 splitter.
Looks fine and mine has 6 inches of clearance.

Well it looks like it's a done deal to replace it. The wife said she really liked the front of the car WITH THE SPLITTER!!
