Where is the PDR SD Card slot on a 2016?
I was looking to put a SD card in my 16 Z51 to do some recording as I have never recorded on the PDR. I looked in the glove box and did not see anything obvious. I did see a small gray box but wasn't sure if it was a cover or something else. Didn't want to pry it off without checking here. Thanks

The SD card slot can be difficult to find as it is a dark slot in a dark area that doesn't get much light. It is much easier to get cards in and out of once you develop a mental picture of where it is. A flashlight is useful for locating it at first.
Of course, not all C7 Corvettes have the optional PDR, and those that don't, won't have an SD slot either.

My 2017 3LT's PDR SD card slot is empty. There may be a chip in there already - is what I was given a head up on reading the forum a couple weeks ago. There wasn't, on my C7. I just haven't gotten by a BEST BUY store to purchase a chip/card yet.

If there is one in there you can see it. Push it and it will pop out. You don't need a Best Buy. Staples, WalMart, Target--everyone sells them. Try to find a 32G formatted to FAT32.

Just don't do what I did at first. I went and bought a 64 gig SD card thinking that if little (32 gigs) is good, then more (64 gigs) is better.
Wrong.
The 64 gig card simply will not work. 32 is the most it will read.

If you download a program called HPUSB Disk and run it as "administrator" you can program a 64G and I've heard a 128G chip to FAT32. It is free and I have run it on 2 64G chips and they work great. Recording time is more than 15 hours.

64 gig works just fine. Just be sure it is formatted to fat32

Sorry, not true. The PDR system uses memory cards that are formatted as FAT32. Memory cards that are less than or equal to 32 GB are formatted as FAT32, thus they work right out of the box. Memory cards that are greater than 32 GB are formatted as NTFS (this file format is not compatible with the PDR system). As mentioned, there are several utility programs that can reformat an SD memory card. So, if you have a memory card that is greater than 32 GB, you need to reformat that card to FAT32, and then it will be compatible with the PDR system.

Perhaps I should have added...”Unless you reformat your 64 or higher SD card, it won’t work.” My bad. I remember when radios and heaters were optional equipment. How times change.
