Garage Flooring - What'd you guys use?
What flooring did you guys go with for your vette to bed down at night? Considered the mat flooring, but figured that would eventually be destroyed with fluid from doing maintenance/working on the car. Thought maybe something like these perforated interconnecting floor mats might be handy if I spilled something on them, but was worried they might also slip around a bit or be easy to trip over if you didn't use some type of adhesive to secure them to the garage floor?
Let's see some garage eye candy

I'm not sure this counts as eye candy since my garage was messy as fk in this picture but...
Also no issues or need to secure them to the floor itself. The stuff is heavy. It's not moving anywhere.

I just installed Racedeck flooring in my garage. It does not move, seems to be impervious to damage, and relatively easy to install. You can go to their website and see dozens of floor examples. You can also go to the Garage Journal Board and read numerous replies about various flooring options. If you join that forum, Racedeck gives you a substantial discount buying their floor.

There is both a solid and a perforated race deck tile. I used a combination of the two. Liquids will go through and there are channels on the underside to assist drainage. Anything sitting in the perforated tiles can be pretty easily vacuumed out with a shop vac.

Mine is Oak.
It actually works better than you would expect.
The floor has been down 17 years, and it isn't very worn considering it acts as my auto workshop, woodworking shop and stores the Corvettes.
I use carpet runners on the wheel paths to keep the surface in better condition - avoid pebbles and road dirt from the tires. Of course, since mine is not a daily driver, it doesn't get put away wet, snow encrusted, or even dirty.

Epoxy (semi-metallic) and clear coat here. Laid this down in 2014 and still looks like new today. Garage gets used daily as all my vehicles are parked inside. Did the prep myself (acid wash) and put down a primer coat, plus the epoxy and then a clear on top. Came out rather nice.
Slick as snot when wet though. Wouldn't recommend this if you have little tikes or geriatric folks in the garage.

1. Epoxy in remote garage. Came with anti-slip additive to put in the top coat to improve friction when wet.
2. Motofloor from Costco (made by Racedeck) in the house garage.
Happy with both although I use Torin round base aluminum jackstands. If I need to use the old sharp edge jack stands I use a piece of plywood under the stand.
Best wishes on your decision.

If you actually want to work on your cars, get a coating and not a tile system. I've used Griot's epoxy coating in tan in this house and the last, and it works well. I put their quartz non-slip additive in the areas where my wife and kids might be, and leave it out where I do my work (easier to clean). It's bright, clean, and durable, but you need to clean the concrete and etch it with muriatic acid before applying. BTW, if you go to the best shops (like Canepa, Roy Brizio, Moal) you'll find either coated or uncoated concrete with no tiles, and fluorescent lights. Tells you something.

We had Epoxy Floors Houston do ours in Nov 2016 and it has shown no wear what so ever. We are very happy with it and with the flakes it not slippery when wet.
I would definitely do this again but maybe with slightly less flakes. Now I need to make the walls look as good as some of yours.

Commercial carpeting under mine. My car lives on jackstands and it is comfortable lying under the car when working on it if the garage is cold. I change it out every few years.

I used SwissTrax in my garage. Very happy with it & highly recommend it. It's heavy duty, resists various chemicals, not slippery when wet and stays in place. Also easy to clean.

Was going to use epoxy until a friend mentioned after the proper acid cleaning step before applying epoxy to his new garage floor, it peeled in spots. Then checked with the best paint store in town and although they carried epoxy floor paint, the salesman suggested I use tile, like his friend! The key reason I went with his advice, was they didn't even sell tile!
Bought commercial 1/8 inch thick tile at Lowes (not the 1/16 inch used indoors.) Used the best adhesive from a tile/rug store (their price for the same tile was twice Lowes although they had more colors.)
Just washed the concrete floor with soap and water and with the wife's help and a two day effort, the 3 car garage was finished.
Pic below is ~14 years after completion! Floor still looks great. The street rod was parked in the center when I had my C6 and you can see a stain from those hot rear tires when parked. No problems for me it's a good functional garage and floor. No issues with jacks and jack stands. Change oil, etc on it all the time.
Floor in 2014. Still looks great. It will stain from hot sticky tires as on my street rod. You can see it in the center garage as the street rod was parked there until I bought my 2014 C7.
Floor in 2000. Lowes commercial 1/8 inch thick tile. Just cleaned concrete floor with soap and water and used a high quality adhesive.
