Happy 2018 Forum, From New Member/Proud C7 Owner in OC
Greetings from OC, CA. Been lurking here while finally being able to realize a childhood dream (thanks to my awesome wife). I've wanted a vette since I was a little kid in the '60s and I'd ride my bike to the Chevy dealer to sit and admire (yup, prototypical mid-life crisis owner I guess).
This beauty is a `15 Z51 3LT in really nice (stock) shape. Been making a long list of upgrades I'd like to budget for as well as a-bunch-o-questions I need to dig into more here in the forum. In the mean time, if you can provide some quick pointers . . .
The paint is in great shape and appears to have a synthetic (ceramic?) finish applied. Looks wet(ish) and isn't really getting dirty. Can a Zaino-type product be applied without stripping, etc?
I'd like to get side skirts and I'm confident I could install 'em IF I had a means to jack up the car. Any recommendations for an installer in OC for that kind of kit?
Service is another thing. Don't need it yet but I'll need to hunt that down at some point.
Anyway, here's the pics and looking forward to meeting some of you fine folks at some gatherings in 2018.
That's the wife behind the wheel

Congrats on living your dream! If it does have a ceramic coating on it, you won't need the Zaino for a while.

Santa Monica pier? Oh, and sweet ride! Btw, I went with ACS Zero1 side skirts and am very happy, 'though I had a speed shop do the install since I don't have the equipment. And I can hear gravel and such pinging off the skirts so I know they're doing the job.

"In honor of jpee"
really looks nice. (J&D Corvette in Bellflower does mechanical stuff; might ask them about bodywork/side skirts and who they'd recommend.)

Congrats!
I didn't see anyone answer your question about "waxing" over a ceramic coating, and you certainly can without removing it, but it's recommended that you use a SiO2-based product.

So, Foosh, would you recommend a ceramic coating be applied before Expel Ultimate? Wonder what a CeramicCoating procedure costs?
