Replacement Battery
What are you guys replacing your original batteries with? The only place I can even find Delco Batteries is at the Chevy dealers and I hesitate to pay that kind of price for one when an equal rated one can be purchased for half that.
My '14 Z51 had not been started in about a month and I got in it and it fired right up, drove it around town, stopped at the post office and came back out and it was dead as a doornail. Called the wife who brought me a battery pack rated at 12K mA and it barely started it. Stopped by O'Reillys and had it checked where the dumbass tech promptly bent the fibre cover over the battery area so far it cracked in two but the battery checked ok. Not sure whether to replace the battery or just purchase a booster pack and carry with me.

May I suggest my tried and true formula? I replace batteries without fail at every four years from when the battery was first put in service. Even ones that are working "fine". Why? 4 years is the average life span of almost all batteries. So, after 48 months you are on borrowed time.
I never want to discover a spent battery in a dark parking lot in the middle of winter - or summer.

For those who just call AAA to jump start, IMO good chance they will rip the carpet to gain access. Several posts where a dealer ripped the carpet! It's not in the Owner's Manual or the 4 volume Service Manual BUT I find when accessing the battery it is best to pull the rear clip from the passenger side wheel well. It's 3 inches up from the carpet and can be done with strong fingers! That and careful removal will prevent ripping the unbound carpet.
Getting the battery out of the hole (after you figure how to get the power board off. Service Manual is no help simply stating "remove power board"-wish folks that write them would try themselves!) It also requires some type of gripper. I used a cheap post gripper that slipped once! After that I place the battery on the floor I lifted the 40 pound battery by bending over the spoiler, putting my hands underneath and lifting it over and out. Then did the same backward with the new one! (Although 75, I exercise 7 days a week and still do 3 sets of 10 pull-ups on back day! )

I changed my 2014 battery a few months ago, and I can only hope that the new battery will last as long as this thread...
The battery did not fail, but after almost 4 years, not worth the risk.

I've changed my battery on my Corvettes after 3 years, no matter how many miles since I had one die on my C5 back in 2002. It's a cheap fix and BTW the stock battery was only a 36 month. I always replace them with a 48 month battery. Why screw around?

I guess my personal experience living in Florida might explain the shorter than normal life span for a battery that is placed on a battery maintainer every time the car is shut off in my garage?
My last change was a result of driving to a car show (30 minute drive) parking the car and then having to re-position the car. When I started the car to re-position it, I got a dreaded slow crank. Battery was replaced the next day. I've been here for 27 years and cars eat batteries down here. It is a price I gladly pay to be able to have the top down for 9 months of the year!

Well, I changed mine after four years, just because!
because I was not about to get stranded by what appeared to be a perfectly good battery and let someone on here say "I told you so."

Replacing my 36 month old OEM battery with an Odyssey this weekend. New battery is sitting in the garage waiting for me. Just no need to wait until it fails at the worst possible moment. Headed out on a road trip to Colorado next week and will feel better knowing the new battery is in there.
Wish me luck on changing it out with minimal four letter words required and no car damage.

Maybe I'm an "old school" guy but I find myself still doing this little trick from my C6 days ('07-'12): whenever I shut it down I park it in reverse (7M) and that did the trick in a C6. I sold my '07 five years later with the original battery. I never had a problem and if it was sitting for any period of time over the winter it was on the Battery Tender.

Do you know if the C7 stock battery is a 36 or 48 month battery?

FWIW, changed my 2014 C7 battery after 3 years as it had a low voltage since new. It was going into that 4th winter and there was a sale on an AGM battery with more capacity in August! It was never on a charger. The voltage was higher with the new battery.
Just changed the Yellow Top Optima AGM battery in my Street Rod after 10 years! It was working fine BUT the car has electric doors and the battery is inside the car and it's NOT accusable unless the door is open-a Catch 22! I do have a way to open if it's in the garage using a wire that is under the car I have to attach to 12 volts to get the door open. But a PIA at shows where it is mostly driven! It is always on a charger!
Bottom Line, it does make a difference and the use of a charger is a help in length of life. But no way with my DD am I going to have it on a charger although I have the equivalent to the one sold by Chevy. Only use it occasionally.
