C7 Stock Radio - Would like it Louder
Hey All,
Look for any ideas (simple & inexpensive) to increase the volume of the stock radio in a C7 Grand Sport. Maybe it's me but it's not loud enough... Thanks for the advice. (Please keep the insulting comments to yourself!)

Unfortunately there is no easy way to modify the radio. You need to replace a good deal.
Somebody else asked the same question perhaps two months ago. I suggest searching for this thread.

Perhaps post your question in the Audio/Electronics section - someone there may have some suggestions.

The Bose system is not up-gradable in an easy or cheap manner. For more volume you could put an aftermarket amp in but the speakers will not be the happy with the extra power. The other option is to apply sound deadening to the interior so the radio isn't working so hard to overcome all the background noise.

I started off as a car audio and electronics fan before I was into performance. In my teenage years me and my best friend used to install all the stuff on our cars and our friends cars, and even dreamed of opening up a shop one day. I say all that to say, I do appreciate a good car audio system...but two things, 1. The Bose system in the C7 is decent, and 2. The C7 would need a LOT of extra sound deadening to handle a more powerful system, which adds unwanted weight.
I find when I crank the system on my car, I get some unwanted buzzing and rattling and that annoys the crap out of me. I know how to fix it, but I don't want to weigh the car down with dynamat or anything like that, so I just have left it stock. For the same reason I don't want to add heavy stereo equipment to the car. I like listening to the intake and exhaust as it is, but for those wanting upgraded sound systems, please factor in the insulation part of the equation if you want it to really sound good.

former car audio sales/installer (decades ago); as others have said, with the proprietary BOSE system, there is little that you can easily do. Some success can be achieved by applying an adhesive insulation like Dynamat in the doors and around other speakers but it requires removal of panels and plastic parts. It will help and does not require addition of amps, crossovers, etc. but it's still a task to do for moderate returns (on volume, it helps in other ways as well)

The sound system in our 2LT seems pretty good to me at low speed, but at anything over about 60 mph (depending on pavement) the tire and engine noise ruins it.
More volume would just be like standing beside a jet engine and cranking the volume in hopes it will sound better.

This is the ticket without a big expense. Have it sound deadening and add a powered sub woofer a world of difference. Ask me how I know. That’s what I did. Even my audio installer who did it said not to replace the speakers and have a big expense in doing it.

I have a 2015 2lt. I've never liked how the Bose system was never "loud". Figured one day I'd upgrade like I did my 2006. I decided I wanted CarPlay and installed the MVI CarPlay units. I never thought I'd get a better sound system with this setup, but now that I use my streaming services thru CarPlay, it's unbelievable!!! Try streaming the xm radio app (if you have) or Apple Music, prime, or whatever streaming service you have. It's insanely loud and clear now. When I use regular radio again it's still the old low, not what I want sound....
