Just drove a 14 2lt Z51 manual, very nice. I went to our local high end car dealership and he just got this in and is looking to sell it to me for $47,500.00. I can buy a 17 2lt for $55,100.00 so I have some thinking to do the 14 only has 2,000.00 miles.
I like the rev match it is a very easy manual to drive.

My 2004 C5 was automatic and after a couple of years driving it I was bored with the automatic. My 2014 Stingray was a 7 speed and I loved it, even in traffic. My 2018 ZO6 is a 7 sp manual, enough said!

Picked up our first Corvette last October (2017 Watkins Glen C7 2LT with Z51 performance package). It's an automatic so both my wife and I can enjoy driving it. Talk about marriage enrichment! Screw the self-help books and couples retreats! Buy a Vette!

Very personal choice so there’s no wrong answer unless of course you choose and then don’t like whichever you picked.....I’ve had three modern Vettes, all manuals, in searching for a replacement for my 14 I lost to Hurricane Harvey I tried to convince myself to go with an automatic because I could find great deals on 17’s that were what I wanted except for being automatic. I test drove a couple and decided I just get too much enjoyment running through the gears myself so I’ve ordered a 19 GS manual. Good luck on the decision.

Ok I'm in the same boat what trans? I can use the clutch easy riding my bikes but never owned a manual car wise.
Would it be foolish to buy a manual and have it trucked home. Then learn the stick shift on my own pace how hard can it be?..but heck of a gamble. I always thought a true sport car should be a manual...whatcha think good bad ugly. I relize it is my decision any one else with the same problem auto or manual.
I do not have friends with the stick shift for help. Not worried of resale..just the experience of a true sport car.

I have a 2010 SS Camaro Manual Tranny. I always felt that muscle cars should be Manual until the past couple of years. very nice switching through gears and downshifting, but also very tiring after a while. I just ordered a 2019 Z06/Z07 automatic. I hope I don't regret my decision, but based on the threads and this being my first Vette I think the either way I will enjoy...

I learned how to drive a manual with my Corvette after I bought it. Watch some youtube videos online and look at some articles so you already know what to do. The dealer took me to a parking lot off the highway and made sure I was good to go and then I drove it 6 hours down the highway to home.
It was the best worst 2 weeks of my life learning how to not stall and then it was easy and lots of fun..... so yes your idea of towing it and learning is a great idea except I bet the sales man at Chevy will drive it there for you (he can have another person follow like mine did to get back)

Thanks, guess will decide sooner or later..and good for you learning the ropes.
I bought a few bikes that had the dealer ride to my house, takes a few hours to get used to a new model. Probably could have rode home but chose to have it delivered, a Bonneville T100.

No. I've been driving manuals; trucks of all sizes, cars, tractors, and bikes for 51 years. The new C7 stick is a handful to start perfectly in. I drove through the city surface streets of Houston, Texas at sunset for 25 miles of stop and go traffic on a Saturday night. Not fun. I had another 225 miles of Interstate driving on top of that in my new C7. Not an ideal situation.

My only experience driving a Corvette was driving a friend's '65 around a big empty parking lot about 30 years ago. It was a stick. Lots of pedal effort, power that made it feel the car was running out from under me, vague engagement point.
I loved it. Looking forward to getting the manual whenever I get my C7.

If you understand the concept in a bike you'll learn easily. It's the easiest manual I've ever had. When learned to drive my parents stick shift many years ago I had trouble. My BF told me it was simple and just like my motorcycle. Next time I got in the car it took about 30 seconds and I was all good. Have always enjoyed a manual in my sports cars.

Then the A8 with it's Gt seats different steering wheel different feel and feels quieter and refined. Totally different drivers the 2017 A8 for sure has the improved more refined ride.
Stealthy straight WGG IMO the best color from GM to date.
These two together is a hard to beat combo and they make me smile! Time to go get one out the garage and drive!

They seem far from the same car when you drive them. The M7 has the comp seats, suede wheel and shifter, then it has the MGW with headers and Halltech, PTB, tune and around 640 rwhp. So it seems race car compared like bang it fires on the cold start. Just added the DSC Controller. More racey look

Sounds like to nice rides. How do you like the MGW and DSC controller? I'm considering doing them in mine. Still debating if I'll add any power. It becomes addicting for me and at a certain point it's useless on the street.
