So for the cost of a quarter of a million gallons of premium gas, you too can have an electric motored Corvette.

The amazing part of this story is NOT that they were able to shove a couple of electric motors into a Corvette -- the amazing part will be if they find anyone moronic enough to spend almost a million dollars to buy it.

$750K? Really? That's for the ones who just got a tax break, not real people.

And that $750,000 is just the cost of the e-powertrain install... YOU still have to provide the Corvette!!

This indeed is crazy, and it's hard to believe that there are 75 people who would spend this amount of money when there are loads of interesting cars available at much less money.

If you really wanted an electrified C7 I suspect that the easiest thing to do would be to get a wrecked Bolt and a C7 with a blown engine, and install the 200 hp Bolt power train into the Corvette. I'm guessing you could do it well under $100K and end up with a nice commuter vehicle that would wow others just as much as this car. As I have mentioned before, it would not surprise me if such a car already was running inside GM.

Want the ridiculous performance? Buy a Tesla. Even its pie-in-the-sky future sports car is supposed to sell for $250K, if I remember correctly.

750K plus for a car with a range of 175 mile maybe.

That's because the back of a gtr looks like a pre 7 corvette.
