My wife uses it (5'3"). I don't (5'11").

Yes, welcome to the Corvette Forum, the home of conflicting answers, odd experiences, and difficult to understand perceptions.

I've had the clips in my belt holders for almost 2 years now, and never once experienced any problem with belts catching or restricted movement. I think there may be different clip manufacturers, but the ones linked above work very smoothly

I just came back from Lowes.
Spent 49 cents on a foot of clear 5/8 tubing.
Cut two pieces at 5cm.
Inserted into the two prongs in 5 seconds each side - I exaggerate - 2 seconds.
Nearly invisible.
Will take her out to see if I like the seat belt in clip...
If not, I'll write off my first beer tonight.

I'm starting to conclude that if you are "taller," the shoulder belt is higher up, causing it to rub on the clip, which gets in the way and causes restrictions.

On the other hand, if you are "smaller," the shoulder belt goes through the retainer and clip and then down, meaning that it does not get caught by, or rub on, the clip.

Could it be?

6'2" here with a long torso, and 32" inseam, no belt restrictions with the clip.

I might want to try this.

If I go to Lowes, in what section would I find the clear tubing?

Foosh - way to blow my "taller/smaller theory" out of the water!

Sorry . . .

On the alternative front, folks have used all kinds of other solutions, shrink tubing, electrical tape, etc. I used both, which was fine, but just preferred the clips as more OEM-looking.

Keep in mind that the belt emerges higher up on the coupe than the Vert, which may affect how it behaves in relation to the guide.

You might try the eisle with under counter plumbing parts. In mine that also had various tubing. Bottom shelf. Don’t ask me to write term paper for you. ; )

From the Sandyeggo Designs website:

As many C7 Corvette owners know, there’s an opening on top of the seat belt guides that allows the seat belt to slip in and out of the guide. This is a problem because when out of the guide the seat belt can rub against the seat material, may not be in the optimal shoulder/chest position, and may be harder to locate.

The Sandyeggo Design C7 Corvette Seat Belt Stay solves these problems by bridging the opening in the existing seat belt guide. Also, if the seat belt is preferred outside the guide, the C7 Corvette Seat Belt Stay provides a smooth surface for the seat belt that reduces wear.

The C7 Corvette Seat Belt Stay is easy to install and easy to remove and will not mar or damage the guide.

It provides positive latching features:

An internal channel accepts the front lip of the seat belt guide. When our C7 Corvette Seat Belt Stay is pushed over the guide, a noticeable ‘click’ will be heard indicating proper seating.
Our C7 Corvette Seat Belt Stay envelops the entire guide. This also enhances the stability of the C7 Corvette Seat Belt Stay after installation.

Both of these features take into consideration the requirement of still being able to remove the C7 Corvette Seat Belt Stay when desired.

A smooth surface is the best surface for a seat belt to rub against. Our competitors have surface texturing that actually impedes the easy motion of the seat belt. Our C7 Corvette Seat Belt Stay provides a smooth, rounded surface that minimizes resistance and ensures easy movement of the seat belt. And because our C7 Corvette Seat Belt Stay is made of impact resistant ABS, it has a much lower coefficient of friction and a much greater hardness than the competitors product.

The Sandyeggo Design C7 Corvette Seat Belt Stay is CAD designed and made with high quality materials.

That might explain the problem some folks are experiencing with the product.

Does anyone know where to get the 'clips' for a vert?
Mid America does not seem to have them.
Thanks
