It was worth every penny to me, and looks OEM. Others have used many methods to keep the belt in place, but I didn't like the looks of any of those options in comparison.
Hi. Where did you buy the $20 little plastic clip?

Ditto. I have every product designed by Dave at Sandyeggo. They are all very nice little enhancements.

Ditto. In fact there is no point, because my shoulder is an inch or two over it.

One point I'd like to make is that the opening in the guide can let the seat belt *in* as well as *out*, or somewhere in between. And while it may be a low probability of happening, I personally wouldn't pass on an inexpensive way to prevent it.

Its a poor design by GM. I think we can all agree on that.
The stays click in place and the seat belt stays where you want it. Either in or out. Whatever you choose...

Problem solved.

Cheers,
Dave

I would like to also say that since mine kept slipping out and whacking the trim, it was annoying.

My trim is beaten up quite a bit, but since I bought this, I have not gotten any new dings on the trim. I wish I had bought this 50,000 miles before I did. (I don't think it was available then, but it doesn't make my sentiment any less true).

No, I don't have any vested interest in the company. I would also bitch about a bad product (and have) as much as I rave about this one!

I cut a small piece of heat shrink wrap, slid it in and over the gap and shrunk this to close the gap. Seat belt stays where it should and I don't have any big tacky looking clip clipped on. Not to mention the cost was zero.

My shoulder is considerably higher as well @ 6'3" w/ a long trunk, but it's still more comfortable in the guide for me, can't stand it out of the guide.

There's also a good reason to keep it in the clip, because if it's not, when you release the buckle the metal tongue tends to fly back and whack the trim around the door. My first C7 was a CPO '14, and that door trim piece was all chewed up in the 3K miles it was driven by it's original owner. It was noticeably damaged and ugly, but I managed to hide most of the damage by dyeing it black w/ shoe polish.

Yes, that is something that several folks have done to save a few bucks.
But if you want to take the seat belt out of the guide for cleaning or other reason, our stays can be removed and reinstalled.
Also, polyolefin heat shrink tubing is purposely designed with a fairly high coefficient of friction to make it stay in place on a wire or cable. However, the stays are made of smooth, hard ABS. The surface is much smoother and offers minimal resistance to the seat belt.

Cheers,
Dave

No where in your quote from the manual does it say that it is ONLY to be used by children and small adults. Iguessunf it's a matter of personal preference, but it would be nice is the Chevy people would clarify it.

OP read his manual, and is 100% correct about the intent of the loop. I tried to use it for the first time yesterday and thought this can't be for 6 ft people. The belt goes DOWN to the loop, then UP over my shoulder. Can't be the best setup in the event of a crash. I figure its for people 5'4" or shorter.

As the OP, it's nice to see this post resurface again!

BTW - I've had my Sandy Eggo clips for over a year now and they work great.

Just experienced the belt coming out of the guide for the first time yesterday (first time actually being a passenger). Does anyone have installed pictures of the Sandyeggo clips?

I started out using it, and the belt would slip out. Then I started not using it, and the belt would try to find its way back in, but only halfway. Was so bad, started fraying the belt. I ended up using heat shrink as well, with the belt in the guide. No problems since.
