Vert owners - Cowl shake?
#2
Not with my 2014. It is as solid as can be both top up and top down. It is probably the most rattle free car I have owned.

When the C5 was designed, the frame was designed to be a convertible, no shake at all in the 2000 C5 I had, plus no shake in my 2016 Z06 Vert. Car is solid as a rock, and in the C7, the car is quieter than a coupe

Nope none at all. Remember the C7 was designed as a Convertible first, then the Coupe that got it right it is solid.

If you think about it, it's same frame for both coupe (with removable top) and convertible. The only difference is the coupe has an aluminum hoop shaped piece forming the roof line, and the convertible has a straight piece connecting each side. They should have equal rigidity.
The coupe targa top, and rear compartment with glass provide no additional rigidity.

You're right, my '72 Vert was a shaker. If you put your finger between the door panel, and the dash you could feel the frame twist when you turned into my driveway. Like many I have to enter my drive by going across the sidewalk leaving the street. That was odd. But the C7's were designed first as a convertible which strengthened the entire frame, then they designed the coupe on that frame. Much better now.

Yep! I only had to go over a bump in my 68 vert and the hood would pop open and the radio would change stations.
