Default us 3300 battery charger

I have a 2017 coupe, I have the us3300 battery charger in use, is there a safe way to close the rear lid over the wires?

I don’t know if this helps but in my convertible I closed the trunk but did not latch, I’d think you could close it enough to get courtesy lights to turn off but I doubt you can close it all the way

I just shut my lid when charging. If it closes all the way I’m not sure. There isn’t any disconnect from the wires.

This has come up many times here. You can close the lid. It won't hurt the wires.

What everyone means is to connect to the wall socket or extension cord with the charger outside the car, then run the thin wires (that go from the charger to the car plug) over the trunk weatherstrip. Then close the trunk.

Lots of people reporting no problems from this technique. If you want to be conservative, run the thin wires over the weatherstrip in a different location each time.

Since our garage floor is a salty slushy soupy mess all winter, and I don't drive the car during that time, I run the thick extension cord into the trunk and gently lay the trunk lid on the wire. The light times out after a few minutes. It's theoretically possible for rodents to crawl up the wire and get inside your car, but they can do that even with everything closed tight. And I have my own active program to put all rodents in our area on the endangered species list, working well.

I've closed the trunk lid down over the wires since 14 and never had an issue with the wires.

No issue. I tuck the wires close to the edge of the hatch lid and the window. That is where I have the most painted body panel spacing
