Replacement tires on 2014 Z51
I have a 2014 Z51 and going to have to replace the factory run flats that came on it...I am thinking I do not want to go back with the same tires....from all of you guys experiences out there, what tire do you all recommend for me to buy that grips better, quieter, and just a better tire all around? I live in Florida...don't care about tires that are better in snow or whatever, just the best out there, don't care about price, care about good grip and quite...I use my Mickey Thompson tires on another set of ZO6 rims , 18" when I drag race , I need these new tires for my daily driving....any suggestions is greatly appreciated...

Why consider anything other than the tire Michelin and GM spent millions to develop for the C7? That took the business away from Goodyear that had it for years! I replaced the Goodyears on the C6 with Firestone high performance tires-not much better!
In fact I complained that my Z51 2014 had the same width tires as my C6 Z51 with more power and most important more low end torque because of the variable cam timing. Fortunately The Michelin tires had much better performance and achieved significantly higher lateral "g" force. The car still has more torque than even the Michelens can handle on aggressive acceleration off the line! I sold the Z51 and bought a Grand Sport. Has the same Z51 width tires up front and 18% wider rear tires. That takes 2 inch wider fenders!
No Reason to use anything other than the OEM tires in FL, IMO! You'll find nothing that Grips Better, IMO accept Michelin Cup Tires and you will not be happy with the lower mileage or wet weather performance! If you can live with none run flats there are options for lower noise BUT I would not buy other than run flats so have no opinion.
If your goal is saving money, go to Tire Rack. They list a Continental Extreme Contact Sport for ~$400 less for four tires. I recall some have said they worked fine.

You will not find a better gripping daily driver tire than the OEM PSS in summer conditions. Any of the OEM-sized alternatives would be a downgrade.

Pilot Sport 4S (newer than the MPSS) or Sport Cup 2s (best grip but less forgiving in weather/temps).
I have the 4S non-runflats fwiw.

The Michelin PS4S is not available as a runflat, and there's no indication that it's a better performer on the C7. The Sport Cup 2 will last about 6K miles if you're lucky. It's intended to be a track tire.

I asked a Michelin representative about switching to the new PS4S on my Z51 and was told they continue to recommend sticking with the OEM PSS designed specifically for the C7 in conjunction with Corvette engineers, and that they have no plan to release a PS4S ZP in C7 sizes.
I'd say wait until (if?) someone releases a tire specifically targeted at the C7 market, similar to how Firestone did for the C6's to compete against the OEM Goodyears.

^Those are all-season tires, not the PS4S.
If you do want to look at non-runflat tires and aren't interested in sticking with OEM, check out the PS4S and the Continental Extremecontact Sport.

I have both PSS and AS3+ sets which I switch back and forth. The PSS is better in summer, after all it's a summer max performance tire. Below 60F, the AS3+ is better as an ultra high performance all season tire.

I have been running non-run flat Michelin Pilot Super Sports (255 fronts 295 rears) for 2 years. They grip equally well are wearing great and ride much smoother. Today, I would be going with the new Michelin Sport 4 summer tires.
If you have to have run-flats, go with the OEM. I turned an 11.8 (stock tune) on the OEM run-flats... when it was almost 80 deg.

However looking back, I wondered when it was cold, 40/50 F, why the Vette would "step out a bit" when accelerating onto a 4 lane divided highway near my home.
Looks to me now that Firestone was a step closer to what Michelin provides, a more race car tire type construction, low slip angle and more temperature sensitive tread compound!
So far, from what has been reported, nothing matches the OEM Michelin. If a tire exceeds the great OEM tire traction wonder if the tread compound and slip angle will be more like a race tire?

I am running AS3 non-ZP.
Best change I made. Quiet and my car will handle when the temps are below 40*.
I have about 3K miles on the tires since install on 04DEC17.
That includes ice and snow with temperatures down to 2*.
I drive about 30K per year for work. I found Michelin's to be the best on any car I have had.
They are worth the extra dollars. Just hitting a puddle and knowing the car is not going to hydroplane is the best feature of the tire.
The OEM PSS scare the shlt out of me when the temps are low.
We all don't have summer conditions year around and I personally am not parking my car in the winter time.

I am surprised more of you don't try out Discounttiredirect.com
During a holiday they have great rebates, and they throw in more rebates when you use a Discount Tire credit card. I use the card just to get the rebate and pay it off when the bill comes.
I can usually save around 160.00 on a set of tires, free shipping and no taxes.
You can have them shipped to Discount Tire and go online to get a reservation.
No kidding, I had a 0830 appointment, I got there at 0800 and was eating breakfast at 0820 at the Ihop down the road.
There were six guys who attacked my car.

Awesome - enjoy. Since you wont have runflats & no spare, i also recommend a Slime emergency tire inflation kit (model # 50107).

I'm surprised nobody mentioned that the tires on your car in the picture must have amazing grip already as it allows the car to the stick to the ground upside down!
