No flames here. I enjoy my C7, and don't have any of the issues that you stated but that's me. I certainly don't expect everyone else to feel the same way. You could look at the 2019's for better paint, but the styling issues you stated will still be there. If I were to walk away from the Corvette for another car I would look at the Mustang GT 350 for starters before I ever looked at the foreign equilents. Good luck on your choice.

To say there isn't an issue is just going to let GM think everything is ok and they won't improve anything. I understand what the OP is stating. If you drop big money on a car you expect it to look good. C7 is an excellent performer in most cases (A8 on a hot track is not one of those cases) but its fit and finish leave a lot to be desired. From the video of the 2018 black C7 it looks like the new paint shop improved things a bit but poor fit is still there with 1/4 in gaps. Also the 3LT dash seems to have a problem with peeling just like the C6 4LT dashes have.
If people don't complain about their cars or state why they didn't buy the car then GM will never improve but continue to raise prices. Instead C7 owners state "You probably couldn't afford the car anyway". Maybe he didn't want to lose $1k or so a month in value for a car that doesn't meet his standards.

It's actually not poor fit. The exterior panels made of composites require expansion room depending on outside temperature shifts.
I'll choose the composite body panels as compared to the compromises steel or aluminum have.
The performance quality and pricing balance the corvette is unparrelled.

Your excuse is the composite panels require expansion room and that's why the paint fail? Thats like saying the wings on a 737 expand up @ altitude and may have failures..
Good engineering should realize the performance over temperature, life, etc and build it into the design. Your "excuse" is BS

Why post in the C7 forum saying why you won’t buy one? We don’t care.
Maybe I’ll go start threads in the C4 and C5 forums ranting about how butt ugly and outdated they are and why I won’t buy one.
On further reflection that would be acting like a douchebag so I won’t do it.

Millennial here who bought with cash. 2017 Z51, zero paint or figment issues beside some orange peel I can live with. Some wrinkling in interior leather that seems to be the norm. To me, the car is almost as beautiful as a Ferrari but I saved 250k. So I can live with some minor wrinkles in the leather. Love the car.

He had me at "millennial". Do we care? Go complain to a brand manager at GM about how they are losing interest from millennials because their cars to match their standards and let them deal with it. This is a Corvette forum and most people on here own one--you don't (but you might 'catch a used one with good paint') so come back at such time when you have real live example to give constructive input on. At this point your views are shaped by those with real problems choosing to express them on this forum and some random visits to a lot with cars that failed your criteria. You should post some pics btw and share your insights.

Hey mammoth 713. I can tell by the way you post that Corvettes are not for you. Not to worry I have this beautiful 1984 Toyota Corrolla for sale that will fit you to a T

I don't have an issue with the OP's position.
My '17 GS has excellent paint and no panel fit problems, but obviously some do.
I also understand the aesthetics issue. I was not a fan of the tail of the car when it was first released but the wide body of the GS and Z06 seem to suit the design better than the standard Stingray. At any rate I've gotten used to it and in fact I think the car looks badass from the rear.
The steering wheel? Oh well, to each his own.
Bottom line: If you don't like it, don't buy it. If everyone's tastes were the same this would be a pretty boring world.
Edit: Ad hominem attacks on the OP because of his age don't make anyone look good. C'mon, guys.

OP is the one who made his age an issue... trotting out the 'millennial' label in his 1st post in this thread like it had some relevance "I am a 'millennial'.. I have a good job...". Unless you are going to slam other age groups or assign some sort of superiority to your 'group', why bring it up at ALL? What does age have to do with perceived quality issues???

The point of bringing up my age was the fact they are struggling to get millennials to buy the car to begin with.. Adds insult to injury

Leave your racism at the door. This is a CORVETTE forum.
We can disagree all day about build quality, what GM should or shouldn't do, etc, but RACISM has no home here.
