Ok maybe black is trending, but beauty IS in the eye of the beholder. I personally think the C7 looks more classy/“rich” with something other than black wheels. The details of a black wheel tend to get muted by the black on black of the tires. I liken in to how a lighter cooler shows the lines better on the body of the C7. My wife says black wheels look kinda juvenile.

For me a lot depends on the balance of the car, car color, calipers, any other trim parts. I am more partial to the black though.

Born in '55 (birthday tomorrow!) and my last was a '12 GS Conv with more chrome beside the wheels...geez.
BUT, for the last year and a half (and my last Vette purchase since I am retiring this year) it's a '14 Torch Red Z51 7MT 1LT Conv with BOTH black wheels and calipers (I've also added the stage one front splitter and side skirts also in black of course); the Corsa exhaust I added has chrome tips because I didn't want to spend the extra couple o' bills on the black tips but I wish I had now....nice to be a rebel, huh?
I really wanted the black wheels to go with my GS. But, considering what was available and options in stock, I did go with the $2K chrome wheels which do look great. But who knows? I still might switch them out.
