C7 competition seat option on 2019 Grand Sport
I really like the look and feel of the competition option seat on the Grand Sport but it's a little pricy, $1900, and how are they on a long drive, like cross country. Are they rock hard or very little padding or what? Just sitting in them in showroom seems fine. I think they have power adjustments. Anybody have any long term experience with these optional seats?

I have them and like them a lot, had the GT's in my previous C7, both very comfortable. If your beefy though the comp seats might be to snug.

If you are too beefy it won't matter which seat you have. The seat bottoms are the same except for maybe the foam material. The Comp Seat supposedly has stiffer foam but I haven't tested the two together to know that for sure. You will bridge the two seat bottom side bolsters Vs sitting in the seat.

They are equally (un)comfortable, depending on your build. The comp seats look cooler.

I wouldn't buy a vette without comp seats. They look and feel awesome. On long trips, I stick a small thin lumbar pillow between the bottom and the seat back, that's the only comfort related feedback I'd have. Oh, the seat heaters do not get super hot.

If you click on search, then type in the word 'competition', you will get years and years worth of information on these seats. Plus whatever is in this thread.
There needs to be a mega merge to consolidate this subject, retitled as the OFFICIAL competition seats thread.
Cliffs - nice seats but crazy expensive.

- Comp Seat backs and bottoms feel firmer than GT Seats
- My family agrees that our arms seem to be pushed slightly forward and will not rest comfortably at our sides due to the Comp Seats' protruding side bolsters. We have athletic, slim builds.
- Upgraded Napa leather seat inserts for the GT Seats is a significant benefit of the 3LT ($9,745) and 3LZ ($8,945) packages. If you purchase a 3LT/3LZ then your $1,995 premium for the Comp Seats nets you leather seat inserts that appear to have been downgraded back to the base Mulan leather.
- I think that the Comp Seats look AWESOME with the flared backs and carbon fiber inserts!!
- The glossy black portion in the rear of the Comp Seats appears more high-end than that of the GT Seats.
- However, for Z06's, I've seen the "Z06" logo embossed in the GT Seats headrests. I've not seen this for Comp Seats.

I get to compare the two seat options quite often. There is not enough difference to notice. Most notable difference is the flat bottom steering wheel between '14 stingray 3 package and my '17 3LZ package

I haven't sat in the other seats to compare. But drove my GS with comp seats from Kentucky to California over about 6 days and didn't have any complaints.

My brother Z has regular GT seats, they are ok, I am 5'8 and 165 lbs medium built and felt not enough support when on a racetrack; comp seats where a must before buying the Grand Sport along with carbon/ ceramic brakes
