No, I'm with Kevin Jones and Xtroms a bit. It is a "middle class" sports car. Like a WRX Subaru is a kids sports car and a Ferrari is a grown up sports car, the Vette is in the middle.

Are you guys homeschooled or something? Why is this even a thread? If you don't think it's a Supercar, you're wrong but that's just my opinion. If you don't know it's a Sports car, you're too dumb to own one, please sell immediately.

If that's just your opinion, then why the childish insults toward those who may disagree with you?

Everybody got your "point." The issue is why you felt compelled to suggest other people here were home schooled, clearly an attempt on your part to be insulting. It also betrays your obvious prejudice against home schooling, which is a viable alternative the the statist brainwashing we call "education" in this country. Guilty on both counts.

The point of my saying this thread is pointless is that if it takes actual thought to say Yes to the question; you aren't a car person and shouldn't answer anyway. The Corvette has long been known as, America's Sports Car. If you're still unsure, read:

Oh, please. You're full of contradictions. Why would you EVER say, "Are you guys home schooled or something?" Given that you SAID that, it's a perfectly reasonable assumption on my part. You were being insulting, on purpose. OWN IT! Apologize.

More insults. Nobody really cares. It's just a thread. Give it up already

And the entire field/industry of Marketing.

If we didn't have these "segments" how could one advertise as being the best at X in Y segment?

I know my C7 isn't a sports car because nobody in their right mind would let me drive one!

To put this to rest "YES" the Corvette is a TRUE American Sports Car!! It was the First True American Sports Car
Now I've owned several Pontiac Firebird TransAm's and Formula 350's and they are "Not" a Sports car but a Performance car as they have a back seat. Yes mine had the 455 in them which was way more motor then some of the Vette's had in the mid 80's
No that I own a C7 and this is my first Vette I can say this "Why did I wait so long for this"
Camaro's Firebirds, Mustang's and even Chargers are Performance cars, although good and fast there no Vette
