hi there. I have the auto. this is my daily driver and I wasn't up for a leg exersize every time I drive downtown Nashville. these days I prefer it really - haven't had a manual in I don't know how long. we have a pretty good cars and coffee the first Saturday of the month in Franklin. you should come up for that - starts early though. there's another Carbon 65 that shows up sometimes. if we could get them together that would be a rare picture I would think.

I am in the Dandridge area east of Knoxsville. I will be doing the Dragon on a weekday when the leaves turn and the Shelbyville autocross Nov. 4.

I'm think the leaves will have changed before I am back on land, and probably be off the trees. Don'g get home until 8 NOV. The Cherahala Skyway and dragon loops is usually very good for fall colors. I'm in the tiny town of Ten Mile, south west of Knoxville.

I assume most have seen these statistics? Interesting! All our cars are rare, but some are really rare!

Yep, mine is one of 50 Grand sports with a manual.

Also more where shipped out of the USA than the initial plan of 150 leaving and 500 being sold in the USA. Only 437 total were sold in the USA. Would love to know the break down of manual cars that left the USA.

Carbon 65
When the package was announced, 150 out of the 650 total Carbon 65s were planned for export, but when the official production stats were released, the final tally showed 213 exports while 437 were sold domestically.

We reached out to the Corvette team who confirmed that the extra Carbon 65s were requested and granted for the European market. Europe received a total of the 127 Carbon 65s, followed by Canada (49), Mideast (17), Mexico (12) and Japan (8).

Yes, I'd love to know the demographics of those exported too! Particularly Z06's vs Grand Sports! I've always assumed it was close to 50/50, but have no idea really.

The Grand Sport M7 is a rare one! I had the opportunity to buy a Z06 Convertible Auto, which was a rare one too. Although I've had a LOT of convertible Corvettes (and loved them all), I really liked the Coupe in the C65. All that said, at 66 years old, I didn't really buy one hoping to realize an increase in value 30 years from now! lol

By the way, after attending Spring Mountain, I became a much better fan of the Grand Sport. I was really surprised how well the M7 Grand Sports did relative to the A8 Z06. If I ran the Z06 really hard, it overheated every time. Once I learned to keep the RPM's down and depend on the torque it did much better, but still, the Grand Sport compared very, very well. All that to say, in retrospect, I'd be totally happy with the GS!

Enjoy your car!

I have no idea on the split on export cars. Would like to know also Z06 vs GS, auto vs manual and so on.

I went to Spring Mountain in 14, after I ordered and received my 14 Stingray 3LT, Z51 M7 car. I was shocked when the instructors showed us the C6 Z06 had a hard time staying with the Stingray Z51. The Z51 was faster though the curves and turns than the C6 Z06, but the Z06 would make it up on the back straight. I will be going to the class again in February, this time in a M7 Grand Sport. I know the Grand Sport will handle the corners with more speed. Anxious to see just how much more. Front tires on the GS are the width of the rears on the Z51.

I was really planning on buying a 18 Z06 with the M7. I fell in love with all the details of the Carbon 65. With out taking money out of investments, or having a payment larger than I wanted it was either the GS Carbon 65 or a Z06, I just could not swing a Carbon 65 Z06. I decided that the overall package of the Carbon 65 was more important to me, which is rather funny, as I swore if I ever got a wide body, it would be a Z06.

I really had no idea the car would be at all rare. I just knew, I was not buying a corvette with out a M7.

The Carbon 65 is more limited production, then the 2017 Grand Sport Collectors Edition.

The CE there were 793 built.

Of all the Carbon 65 cars, grand sport and Z06 there are 437 in the USA.

The Grand Sport 65 was 297. I have not been able to figure out how many of those 297 were shipped out of the Country. At any case, 297 is sure a lot less then 793.

Question for Carbon 65 owners: From a potential new owner - I looked at a holdover Carbon GS Coupe within the last few days that was missing the dash/console trim emblem unique to the LE that identifies the edition number. Dealer is still searching for it but I'm guessing it was removed/stolen during these many months the car sat new and languished on the lot. While the dealer checks (I have little faith) do any of you happen to know if duplicates are obtainable? Thought I would check on the off chance one of you had reason to obtain one.

An otherwise outstanding car!

I would put that onto the dealership, they have connections with the factory reps. I wouldn't take delivery without! Just my 2 cents
