Default What does your state charge to plate your C7?

Just wondering what others pay for a plate/registration fee.

$402.00 for a year in Michigan on my GS.

$87 in my county in WA. If you are in a county that has the accursed transit district tax you pay a lot more.

PA added a county tax a couple of years ago, so now I have to send them $41 a year instead of $36.

Or I can get two years at no discount, but saving them money.

$27.50 here in Arkansas, Hillbilly country! PS: Had to add, this is just for another sticker, good for 1 yr., heck they even discontinued giving us a yr. & month sticker, now only the one 1" sq. month due sticker. We keep plates.

Illinois - Title, Plates and Registrations is 200.00 to 300.00 depending on standard, vanity or personalized. Yearly sticker is 100.00 - 150.00 depending on standard, vanity or personalized plate.

In MO it's something like a flat $12 or $15 for a 1 year registration. You can buy two years at a time, but only in certain years. There's also a $12 mandatory "safety inspection" but you can get those done almost anywhere.

The real kick in the groin is the yearly personal property tax. I actually have no idea exactly how much it'll be for my C7, or any other car. The state doesn't publish an up to date chart or a consistent formula. You can get a ballpark by looking up other cars, but you don't know the exact number until you get the bill at the end of the year.

Even with that, it's still cheaper than when I lived in MI, once you account for the difference in insurance and wear and tear on the car.

If MO would just get rid of the stupid front license plates (which I don't run anyway) it'd be pretty good.

I think the first year my z51 was about 1600. The next year it was 1200 roughly. I’m hoping this year it’s below 800.

My truck was even more expensive.

Colorado, you’d think we’d have really nice roads lol

Here in NC, you pay your county's property tax at the time you register/tag it and each time you renew your tags. On a 2018 GS that came to the tune of about $700

Here in Montana my wife's 2016 Corvette was $565.00, but no sales tax, The fee declines yearly until the vehicle is ten years old.We also have an idiot for a governor. Part of it can be deducted on your income tax.

I must say, there are some very creative legislatures out there that have developed ingenious ways to pull in an extra buck.

I used to think it was completely ludicrous when I heard about screen door and TV tax in the UK. These days, I tend to believe our politicians are in a global competition, to see who can devise the best means to maximize the percentage of every $1 we make that they can repatriate back to the state

Wow, I can't believe some of the super high fees some of you guys pay! And up here in Ontario we're angry because we now pay $120 a year and it wasn't that long ago when it was only $50.

Ohio is a mess. It can go from $34.50 to $54.50 in increments depending where you live because of local fees. Then plus $25 for Initials or plus $50 for personalized. So you can pay as little as $34.50 and as much as $104.50.

Here in CA my registration fees on the car when it arrives will be approximately $750. Lumping in the sales tax I’ll also be required to pay, since it’s new, my grand total will be close to $6k. The registration fees do rapidly decline. My 10 year old truck was around $450 last year.

You can calculate a few if you really want to laugh at us - https://www.dmv.ca.gov/wasapp/FeeCal...VehicleForm.do
