Z51 Owner's Thoughts
Well I am finally pulling the trigger on a 2017 Vert LBR Z51 1Lt, Manual. Curious about others with Z51 packages and driving experiences. I probably will not be tracking the car. Have a great day.

Z51 well worth the options even if you don't track it. That is if you are an aggressive street driver.

Good for you! Congratulations.
I assume your question is regarding Z51 package. I drive a 2014 coupe TR Z51 1LT, without MRC. I like the firm and comfortable (to me) ride of the suspension. Before that I used to drive a 2008 coupe CRM Z51 1LT, without MRC. Same experience.
Good luck and post pictures.

Curious why you would spend the money on Z51 if you don't plan to track it.
My car is base. I drove the Z51 at Spring Mountain and was quite impressed with it.

Mine is a 1LT Z51 Coupe, no mag ride. I'm 6'4, so figuring out how to sit comfortably was a challenge at first, but once I got used to it, the car is actually quite comfortable. It is big in all the right places for my broad shoulders and long legs. I have about a 1/2 inch gap between the crown of my head and the headliner.
Despite what others say, the stereo is quite nice. If you're not happy with the way it sounds, adjust the graphic equalizer until it sounds the way you want it to.
You will like the rev matching feature on the transmission. Its pretty intuitive. Lots of people leave theirs on all the time, but I don't like the way it separates you from the operation of the car. I leave it on when I'm on a windy road where I'm upshifting and downshifting frequently, but turn it off when I'm just cruising.
If your car does not have mag ride, don't let the "mag ride is everything" people get you down. It's a neat feature, but for what you're using the car for, it's not essential.
The first 500 miles is really difficult because you can't go over 4000 RPM.
When you get your first oil change, check the oil right away when you get the car home. If it is over-filled, (which it most likely will be) drain some oil out. I did it by using a siphon to suck the oil out of the reservoir into some pyrex measuring cups.
You will be surprised by the amount of power this car has right off idle. It makes 400 Lb Ft of torque at 1000 RPM. That's essentially big-block power.

Own 2017 Vert. 2LT Z51 7sp. man. and love it. Why not get the Z51 package with larger wheels and brakes, stiffer springs, larger shocks, larger sway bars and coolers for the transmission and eLSD. The only draw back with mine is most tracks won't let Vert. on track without a roll bar. I work track days at a local track for different car clubs so I get to sneak in some laps trying to find my corner. Have taken a few long trips with no complaints from the wife on the ride with the Z51 package and I think it is one of the best options for the price.

I have a '15 Z51 manual convertible. I swapped out the rear sway with the slightly larger diameter MSRC bar. Helps keep the rear end planted in the curves. I'd do it again for sure.

I went from an 02 coupe with the adjustable shocks and Z-06 sway bars to my current 16 Z 51 with mag ride. I love my new car and was pleasantly surprised as to how much of an improvement the current C7's are. The ability to change so many ride, sound, and automatic features at the touch of a button is incredible.

I have had 2 C7's. A 2014 stingrays base, and now a Z51 (both 2LT).
I would buy a Z51 all day over a base. The car just feels faster (because it is faster). Gearing along with better cooling and better suspension. All worth it.
Absolutely nothing wrong with a base car, but for the money I much prefer a Z51.
