Hi all,

I've heard from a few folks about Corvette clubs, but never took the idea too seriously.

Are any of you part of a Corvette club ? If so, what benefits do you get from it?

If it helps, I'm in Jacksonville, FL. :-)

They are good for gatherings and shooting the **** but some take it very seriously and have mandatory events which kind of ruins it.

I met a lot of great people via some local corvette clubs. I never joined any but I’ve met a ton of great people many of which I now call friends.

You have to find one that suites your style. You essentially have to look one up and attend a meeting and see if could possibly work for you. You can get a pretty good feel for it by just attending one meeting and asking a few questions.

I am in a corvette club we meet one time per month, Go on diff cruises, Meet up with other town clubs, It is something to do man you can meet up with a lot of diff people. Go to a meeting if you want don't if you don't want to do so.

In warm weather the club will do at least 2 weekend runs to diff places, this way if you can do one more than not you can go on the next one in that month. Robert

I might be prejudiced, full disclosure, I am the Treasurer of the Corvette Club of Western Mass (Google us, we have a great website!) We are an organization that promotes the Corvette brand and raises funds for local charities (mostly veteran oriented). We have a Corporate sponsor and so charge no dues, membership is free, but we do require attendance at a minimum of 4 events throughout the year to maintain active membership.

Four events are easy as we have an active schedule of more than 35 events throughout the year. They can range from social get togethers such as lunch, dinner, or bowling and billiard get togethers, to the 2 shows we sponsor and run, a Spring all Corvette show in May and an all makes and models show in September. We have many cruise in fundraisers through out the season, and schedule at least 2 weekend adventure per season for those who are interested, the first, this year in June, a long weekend to Bar Harbor, ME to meet up with other clubs, some from as far away as Canada. Our most anticipated and best attended event is our track day at Palmer Motorsports where we get to tour their outstanding road course track (this year in May)

In short, a Club is what you make of it, it is a great way to meet new people that share the same passion for Corvettes, explore new adventures to use your great car, and just enjoy life!

I joined the Corvette Club of Richmond last year - shortly after purchasing my first Corvette......a brand new 2017 Stingray 2LT that is Torch Red with a 7spd manual. We call ourselves the 'Best Corvette club in the world'. Haha!!

Membership is just $25 per year and you can participate as much or as little as you wish. We have membership meetings once a month and arrange several other functions as well. The best times are during the summer when we have 'road trips' to a particular venue or get-togethers with people from other Corvette clubs in the region.

It is a great bunch of people and we all come from different walks of life, are different in age, race, religion or politics.......but we share a love and affection for America's only true sports car.

Go to a local club event and see for yourself. If you like it, then join. If not, then don't.

Clubs vary a great deal. Some want you to attend a few meetings, then vote to accept you. Others are much more informal. Many of the do charity work, roadside cleanup, and other "community" events for something to do. So it depends on what you can tolerate. If you're a "joiner" you can rush out and "belong," but if you're more of a lone wolf type, clubs are probably not for you. The club in my county has very strict requirements, application fees, mandatory meetings, and supports charities I'm not interested in, so I've avoided them.

I'm the President of the Corvette Club of Kansas City, Missouri (2nd year as President). These clubs are what you make of them. Sometimes you have to try out a few different ones to find the one that you click with and you also like the events that they have.

So I was approached to join a club and if I recall correctly it involved like $100 down and something like $30 a month I kindly said thanks for sharing but not at this time. I am sure it might include some events and month or $360 a year I can think of some small mods to do nor would I ask the wife because she would think I was crazy. LOL. I think clubs are a good social opportunity for vette lovers but not the one I’m referencing or is this reasonable?

You've got to see if it fits your interests. My Mercedes-Benz Club is a sanctioned one by MBCA. Their activities run the gamut monthly & annually. They also have hands-on DIY tech sessions, where you work on your own car at authorized Mercedes-Benz dealerships. That's probably not very widespread, IMO. I posted for such a Corvette club in my area, and there was zero response. I'm thinking that there aren't any Corvette clubs that have DIY tech sessions. I've learned a lot over the past 20 years wrenching on my own Mercedes by these tech DIY sessions.

Wow, that is interesting. The Corvette Club of Kansas City dues are $45 a year.

There's a good reason why. Look at who's driving C7s - many are senior citizens of Social Security age+ driving them.
The scores of senior citizens in their 60s and 70s and 80s are a dominant age group among Corvette owners.

I thought about joining a corvette club. I live in South Jersey and checked out some of the local clubs on line. I will probably look into it further in the spring.
