Anyone regret the 1LT package?
#21
I went from a loaded Camaro 2SS with mag ride to a base Stingray 1LT and have no regrets.
I prefer simplicity in a drivers car like a corvette. The only feature I would have liked from the 2LT is the front camera so you can see where the curb is but I have been getting by for 30 years without it so I figured I would survive.
Some things to consider...
- Don't need NAV anymore with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
- 1LT comes with leather power seats
- Heated seats depend on you climate, worthless for me in Florida
- The cooled seats are ok but they are not AC, just a fan circulating so I found the don't really cool that well.
- HUD is cool at first but just duplicates info you already have in the beautiful digital cluster
- Most can't tell a difference with the Bose subwoofer since most of the base seems to come from the 10 inch speakers in the door anyway. In general the Bose system is just average at best anyway.
- I am the only one who drives so The memory package is only useful for the easy exit/entry feature. I get by without it just fine and never need to adjust the seat.
The luggage shade is useful and can be bought for $100 online.

I am coming from a 2016 2SS as well.

You won't miss what you never had. I have 2LT but would buy 1LT next time. I don't need the front camera, I know how to judge distances and I don't have a cheesey oversized splitter. HUD is cool but easy to live without. The Bose system blows, 1 or 2LT. The seat heat takes too long to warm up, seat cooling is tepid at best. Save your money and go 1LT.

No, because I went with the 3LT package.
The 1LT is so stripped down, the minor savings wasn't worth it to me.
After I started comparing the 3LT's features against the 2LT, I would have had strong regrets with the 2LT package...
Since you're going GS, you're going to be out a bundle of extra $s anyway.

I live in Norcal and and seat heaters are not a necessity - and on hot days the seat coolers dont actually work - since they just re-circulate ambient air.

Of course to each his/her own, the extra almost $10,000 for the 3LT makes no sense to me for what little you get, especially when considering how much you get for $10,000 in the Grand Sport package.

I don't think the 1LT is stripped down in the least bit. And I've had Porsches and M-Bs that were fully equipped, so I know the difference.

Yah, my gopro and harrys lap timer on my iphone do a perfectly good job -dont need the $2,000 data recorder.

I have 1LT. No regrets. It has more luxury than most cars out there. The seats are very comfortable. The stereo is just fine for what it is. It plays Van Halen and Def Leppard with ease. The HUD on the 2LT and above is a distraction to me, so I don’t miss that either. Heated/Cooled seats just seemed like something that would break after the warranty expired. I don’t care about front cameras. I just back into parking spaces or pull through. The only thing I wish my car had is Mag Ride. (But the lack of it does not lessen my enjoyment of the car). I think a 1 LT GS is a great no frills performance car.

Looking at getting a Grand Sport and want to keep my spend to a minimum.
Wondering if I'll b dissapointed with the 1LT package.
It looks to have a lower end stereo, no front camera and non-adjustable side bolsters - in addition to many other things.
Anyone here got a strong opinion on this option?
Thanks!

All the electronic C7 gizmo
Did it take any technology challenged c7 owners long to get used to all the sophisticated dashboard electronics/controls? The C7 is light years ahead of any of my cars owned.
Technology has always been a steep learning curve for me. Though pretty good with older technology of past cars. TIA
I likely will wait to view the 2019's but up in the air. Mostly doing research.

My view is this...You are getting a Corvette, not a Yugo. Go for the whole experience, not the stripper model unless you are only concerned about track usage. The $4450 difference over 60 months (average car loan) = $74.17/month. This is based on the list price of the 2LT package...Most likely you will be getting the car for between 10% and 20% off depending on whether you order new or purchase a leftover. If less than $3/day is going to keep you from getting a 2LT, perhaps your money is better spent not getting a vette.

These same buttons are also super easy to hit while driving - and I found for the first few months I kept messing up my dash lay out and couldnt always figure out how to get it back where I wanted.
I did finally figure this out - and I'm good now. But yes, there is a learning curve.

Burning Brakes
Some of the things I am appreciating with my base Stingray 1LT since it is limited to daily driving street usage.
- very little brake dust and no brake squealing.
- lack of dry sump, saves a little money for oil changes.
- base MPSS tires, seem pretty quiet, ride nice and cost about $50 less per tire and have more tire options to choose from come replacement time.
