I purchased a 1LT GS for the same reason. I'm happy I did.
Some comments about the 1LT:
- The 1LT standard Bose stereo is just ok, but the 2LT one isn't really better anyway
- The seats are very comfortable
- The seat heaters and coolers would be nice, but not essential
- The GM nav is completely useless - even worse than Apple Maps, which you get with the standard CarPlay. I end up just putting my music on a USB and leaving it in the car, and I have a vent mount phone holder for my phone so I can use Waze. So no disadvantage for the 1LT here
- I don't feel I need the front camera or the HUD and don't miss them at all
I did add the HomeLink visor, which cost me about $200 and was worth it.

We went from a 3LT C6 to a 1LT C7, because the seats in the upper levels cause my wife's nerve damage to flare up. Not sure why, but the 1LT seats didn't. I though I would miss the heads-up display, the heated seats, etc. But, I haven't. Just my experience.

Looking at getting a Grand Sport and want to keep my spend to a minimum.
Wondering if I'll b dissapointed with the 1LT package.
It looks to have a lower end stereo, no front camera and non-adjustable side bolsters - in addition to many other things.
Anyone here got a strong opinion on this option?
Thanks!

Second the the heads up would be nice. I preferred the 1LT as I feel it’s a little lighter and I’m tracking the car

While heated seats and HUD were very tempting, it wasn't worth the extra 5k for me to spend on the 2LT. I still have no regrets a year and a half later and instead invested that $$$ into aftermarket parts .

My buddy and I both have 2014's.
He has a white 1lt coupe and I have a 3lt vert. We parked side by side at a big show on
Saturday and there were thousands of people walking by and looking all the cars over..
Not one noticed the difference and trust Me some of those folks were Corvette owners.
I love his car and if I were to order a new GS it would be a 1lt.

IMO getting the HUD with the 2LT was worth the price of admission. Then you get a whole bunch of other great stuff too. Added together the 2LT was well worth the price.
Color head-up display (so good! IMO, not having this would be a disappointed)
Front cameras (saved my bacon on any occasions. In fact, it would be impossible for me park in the very corner of my garage without them)
Memory seat
Powered Lumbar/Bolster Seat Adjusters
Two tone interior color accents, LOVE IT!
Bose 10-speaker audio system
Ventilated & heated driver & passenger seats
Memory Package
Power lumbar/bolster seat
Universal home remote (so nice)
Upgrade theft deterrent system

I have to say I'm very surprised at the direction this thread has taken.
As I stated early on in this thread the GS package along with the 1LT was all I wanted/needed and I'm very satisfied, however thought I would be in the minority.
Seems those who wish they had gone with the 2LT are far and few in between.

I bought a 2016 Z51 1LT coupe that is very lightly optioned, basically just auto & MRC. I occasionally wish I had memory seats and home link but I wasn’t willing to pay for the $5K bump in sticker for the 2LT.

Drove 2 or 3LT at Spring Mountain. That’s probably the most extreme situation I’ll ever drive under. But after 24k mile plus in my base 1LT coupe, I don’t miss any of the features that I had during those two wonderful days in the Nevada heat.

You can add the Homelink visor yourself. couple of screws and plug it in.

I had both. I ordered my 2014 a 1LT, and now I have a 2017 2LT GS. Granted the front cameras were not available in 2014, but the 2LT is well worth it IMO.
With the 20%+ discounts/incentives being given nowadays, it helps a bunch on the option cost too.

One other thing I've noticed is when kids shout from the sidewalk "NICE VETTE!!". They don't say "Shut up Bobby, it's just a 1LT. REAL Corvettes have seat warmers and HUD!."
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a hater. I looked at a 3LT also when I was shopping. It had the CF dash, (which I really like, and may add to my car eventually) adjustable seats, diamond pattern head liner, etc. But to me, with all those options, it felt more like a luxury car than a sports car.

Very, very happy with my 1LT 2017 Grand Sport. It has everything that I need. There is nothing in the 2LT or 3LT packages that I wanted or needed.

Primary for:
Interior color accents (I have Red seats and this would add additional Red accents)
Memory Seat Package
Heated & Vented Driver & Front Passenger Seats (We drive with targa top removed often and this would make the ride more comfortable)
Head-Up Display
Front Curb View Cameras

I'd be willing to bet if the HUD and Front cameras were stand alone options, the take rate for the 2LT would drop by 30%. HUD is a $600 option on the ATS-V, and since PDR (without NAV) would only be $1,200, many would spend $3,200 less and skip out on the seat memory, heated & cooled seats and the useless extra subwoofer.
My 2014 was a 1LT - I couldn't justify the $4,800 price for just HUD (the only thing I would have wanted or cared for. My 2018 is a 2LT mostly because of the front cameras and I like the HUD. It also seems easier to resell later.

I gotta laugh when people say in this thread you can get a 1LT base Stingray for under $50K and as low as $45K. I look at the price I actually stroke the check for, not the advertised price.
If you want a post-plant upgrade/new paint shop VIN you are going to pay more than $50K at this time even on one with minimal options. Here is the lowest priced post plant upgrade Stingray in Florida at Bomnin in Miami, which is the #5 Volume dealership in the US. Their special price is $48,356 which is indeed under $50K, but add on $1300 of non-negotiable processing fees brings it to $49,656 and then lets not forget tax in FL which is 6% state plus 1% county and you are at $53K which is quite a bit different from the $45K some are claiming is available. Devil is in the details.

If you see a 1LT Stingray advertised by Forum dealers where the walk out the door cost is under $50K, it will be a pre-plant upgrade 2018. Look up the VIN and it will be before VIN 4303, at least to date. Not saying it won't happen when the 2019s hit the lots and the pre-plant upgrade's are all sold. But right now, those big forum discounts of 16%-20% are on the pre-plant/old paint shop cars.

My C6 was a 2LT and I felt like I spent several thousand dollars for heated seats. The rest of it is useless. I turn off the HUD because it's too distracting.
My C7 is 1LT and I have no regrets. OK, if it's real cold, I wish I had the heated seats, so I guess that's a regret until I think about how much it would have cost me.

Probably no one ever mentions out-the-door with tax, because sales tax varies in every state. It's 3% for me, no county tax, so that price you quoted, for me, would be under $50K. Just sayin'.

As my C7 is for touring with infrequent visits to the track, IMO the 2LT package provides great utility and bang for the buck, and while the 1LT saves a few bucks, over the life of the car, the 2LT features were worth the amortized cost, and included the HUD and HomeLink that I wanted, and the front camera that has proven very useful...
Haven't used the heated seats and come the 100 degree summer days, will likely appreciate the ventilated seats in the black interior.
Bottom line is which of the items are important to you, and how many dollars per year of ownership are they worth to you?
