Default “Corvette” badge

New guy question. Bought my 17 GS last fall. Recently realized there is no “Corvette” badge under the flags on the back of my girl. Went back at looked through some of the first pics I took of her, and see that it was missing when she was on the dealers lot as well. Can’t believe I never noticed.

Were there models where this was intentionally left off? I’ve seen others on here that don’t have it either.

Did you purchase the vehicle new?
All new Corvettes have the corvette badge on them to this date.

If it was a pre owned the owner probably removed them.

Bought new. Guess the dealer removed it? But why? Now I’m worried...

Most likely it wasn't installed at the factory. I would speak to dealer. Congrats on the Vette and welcome to the forum

I know you don't want ot hear this, but another possibility is that the rear end suffered some damage during shipping or at the dealer and they repainted the back end and forgot to put the CORVETTE lettering on.

My '18 was missing it, too... very shortly after I got it home from Kerbeck's!

Btw, I'm sure it's better now, but when I was a kid working in assorted dealerships, it wasn't uncommon to see things left off, or on rarer occasions too much put on, like the trim/emblems for two different models on the same car! Maybe someone else has TWO "C o r v e t t e"s on the back of his (or hers)!

^^^ Makes the most sense, or the person on the assembly line went to sleep.

I saw a corvette built vid a few years ago. The Corvette script is installed with a template when the C7 badge is installed. It’s a pretty streamline process... hard to believe that it was overlooked, but anything is possible.

Thought the same thing when I read the thread but didn't have the heart to mention it to the original poster. I hope not for his sake.

Not strange that some C7s are missing it as some owners (I don't understand why) take them off. But not having them from the factory is VERY STRANGE.
As Zymurtgy stated probably the result of some mishap.
Possibly stolen off the C7 while on the lot, some kid may have them glued to their snowboard or guitar.

We take them off as we don't need no stinkin' badges. Too many badges on the car for many owner's tastes. Not that anyone will really care but I debadge ALL my vehicles unless there's a mounting hole below them. Just too much junk stuck on by the marketing guys...

I like the look without the corvette lettering too.

Good news is that if you need a new set they are like $20 for the oem GM lettering. Comes ready to stick right on!

The stingray on the side was like a elementary school sticker. Hell I have sting ray matts I pulled out. Haha dumb logo.

And the corvette on the back stuck out weird to me. Like protruded from the clean lines.

Any chance you paid the dealer for an Xpel or similar wrap on it as part of your delivery? They would remove the emblems for that and maybe missed one?

I took mine off because it's already a busy car and it doesn't need extra badges. Especially on the back.

It has a corvette flag....and then CORVETTE right under it. Why? Its overkill.
