Thanks for the input, everyone!
REPLY...well , just driving from St Louis to Florida yesterday with the 19/20 AS3 all seasons on stock wheels, 2016 coupe with magnetic ride, factory wheels. Hit a bad spot on the major highway in Tennesee and put 3-4 inch tear in both passenger side tires where they meet the wheel. Just discovered this am checking out car prior to departure. in Atlanta awaiting delivery of 2 new ones. Have less than 1000 miles on them. I wonder if Michelin will step up???? They are still holding pressure but unsafe. Mike

Why should Michelin "step up" if they were damaged by hitting a road hazard?

Sounds impressive that they're still holding air!

I would have two advantages here, though:

1) 99% of my driving is my 100 mile per day commute. It's on a 55 mile per hour country back road 2 lane. Also, ~60% of it was repaved last year. The rest the year before. (Though it sucked when they started grinding everything 2 WEEKS after I got my C7.

2) I always go through Discount Tire and get the certificates, so I wouldn't even need Michelin to step up. I'd be covered.

Good luck with the replacements! I hope you get back on the road quickly and safely!

You may be correct, I don't know. First tire failure in 20 years. But what constitutes a hazzard????? It was a rough repair patch in the road, not a sinkhole. I was 70 mph. I'll live with their decision...I am not trying to get something that I should not get.....but the tires should handle normal highway patches??? Mike

Unfortunately, Michelin does not have a factory road hazard warranty on those tires. Who did you buy them through?

I bought them through my Chevy dealer in St Louis and 'I think" they sourced them via TIRE RACK, but not 100% sure

When I bought them from Tire Rack, road hazard warranty was included at no charge.

If you bought road hazard insurance on the tires, that company will "step up," but Michelin is not responsible for where you drive the car. Depending on the hazard you might be able to contact the state DOT and see what they say.

Just bought the A/S 3+ since I live in NJ and would like to drive when its below 50. I mounted them on Chrome wheels( yes chrome) but havent gotten around to installing on car. I will be dismounting the summer tires from my original silver painted wheels and sending those out to west coast corvette for plating then re mounting summer tires. Ill be good for year round,

This is what I'm about to do too once I get my set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ ZP (zero pressure / run flats). Gonna be great to have less concern when driving on nice but cooler days from fall - winter - spring.

It is great, and I drive year round as well. I can vouch for the AS3+ with very good traction down to near 0º. They are also awesome in a cold rain. What has also really surprised me is how close they are to the PSS when it's hot. We sometimes do get surprised with 80º in late March, early April, and they are damned good then too.

Love my new Z and the factory Michelin tires are superb- when balanced (saying that since 3 of 4 were junk from the factory) and the weather is warm.

If you bought your car to track, by all means go with the sticky and expensive tire options out there including the cup tire. They are excellent for what they're designed to do. If you want to enjoy the car year-round then a replacement option may be in order.

Had the Michelin AS version on my C6 and loved them. I will upgrade my C7 Z to the A/S 3+ ZP as soon as practicable and they're available for the Z and GS which sounds to be on the horizon...

The otherwise "same" model tire in different sizes can perform variously on different vehicles, especially with regard to noise... just saying. It is best to consider feedback from as similar situations as one intends to use the tires.

I've had the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S's on my 2007 C6, (a great tire) but what is the difference between them and the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S? I'm not planning on driving my current 2016 in the winter.

Put tires on car last week and took for a longer ride today. I love the fact of no more hearing stones being flung off the tires hitting the car. Seem to be less noisy also
