Default C7 front license plate - removable??

In Wisconsin most law enforcement don't bug you about front license plates, EXCEPT the State Patrol. Well, I have one living right on my way to town and he is a real Gung Ho.

Has anyone use the Corvette Front License Plate Remote Mount, Altec, ''Show & Go'', 2014-2018 from Eckler?

Either manual or power. I would love to use the power option style.
2017 C7 Z51 with factory added splitter.
Thanks

The powered versions do not work well with splitters or on any C7 for that matter.

I highly recommend the manual-remove, Sto-N-Sho referred to by Borntorun above. They have 2 versions, one for the Z06, GS, or aftermarket splitter-equipped Stingrays, and another version for non-splitter equipped cars.

It's a very high quality piece, and plate is on and off in a couple of seconds, and there's nothing to fail.

Check below. More info on front plate laws and plate mounting than anyone could ever need. Also may try search under Altec.

I know what the law is in Wisconsin. Front plates. I have had Corvettes for 30+ years. Never used a front plate until I moved here. Up the road from a State Patrol officer.
What I want to know is, has anyone installed any one of these mounts from Eckler.

What ever- dude, just trying to help you out. There's quite a bit of discussion in that thread on the Show&Go if you took the time to look. Also as stated, if you search Show&Go and/or Altec lots of info.

I used the Sho N Go plate holder on my 04 for years and loved it. I had the remote model and was great to flip down for cruise nights . I purchased a 17 GS and Sho N Go can't be mounted due to angle of front splitter. I purchased the Sto n Sho plate holder for my GS after recommendations from members on the forum. Its a manual release holder and is working out great easy to remove and NO scraping. Here is a picture of it mounted under my GS. I ordered from Big Mike goggle either holder or Big Mike and it will show up. There is different model for Stingray or GS/Z06

The last 3 posts are all talking about the same product, and to avoid confusion it's STO N SHO, not "go."

Hi - I live in Neenah WI so have the same concern about getting stopped. I had the same question about the unit. It looked good until I read a review of it on Amazon. The reviewer said it worked fine but got damaged going over some high/low spot in the road - hung down and damaged plate "With this unit installed you only have about 2-3 inches of ground clearance. A pothole or an uneven surface will cause the unit to hit the ground"

Thanks Joe. XPEL Ultimate should be going on by the end of next week, if my guy can get the damned Lambos finished and out of his shop.

Here's my standard spiel about not mounting anything lower than the splitter even if it is removable...
So just used the GM grille mount, with a little trimming..
Can be removed with screw driver on 2 fasteners through holes in the plate.

And here's my standard rebuttal to your standard spiel, that the Sto-N-Sho is essentially level with the lower lip or splitter, because the mounting rods are tilted up. Thus the plate has a backward rake.

I'm less likely to hit anything with no splitter than you are with your splitter. My standard spiel is that splitters are nothing but trouble in street use and serve no useful purpose other than looks if you actually like that look.

However, another way to look at it, is that the Sto-N-Sho is an excellent splitter saver, since it serves as an early warning that your splitter is about to be damaged beyond repair. It's far cheaper at $85 than replacing that expensive splitter.

Yeah, I think we all hate it when the damned Lambos get in the way.

That looks good. What kind of saw did you use to trim it? Are the edges smooth?
