I'm almost certain this new oil thing is going to become a hot new thread topic and reason for owner consternation for quite some time. My new '18 built a week or so before 19 production came with 5W-30, and I intend to switch at the 500 mile change.
What do you wanna bet that many dealers will try to argue you can't put 0W-40 in anything other than 19s, and/or conversely, they'll be filling 19's with 5W-30.
My 2019 LBR Grand Sport M7 was delivered to me today. Thanks to all of the great advice I received from our Senior members, I ordered the 2LT package with black wheels. The car arrived yesterday and the dealer expedited the prep for me. The ARM works just like everyone said and my stereo sounds great. What a thrill to drive.

You know those will be happening, and to add one more, I bet somewhere there will be a dealer who denies using 0W-40 on one of the "free" oil changes on a 2017/2018 because they came with 5W-30, which is likely cheaper for the dealer to use.
