What .45 small handgun will fit behind the C7 nav screen?
I have a 2018 z06 and I wanted to buy a small .45 that would fit behind the infotainment screen. I was thinking of the springfield xds .45 but not sure if it will fit and I dont want to buy it then have it not go in there properly.

Anyone else notice where the "worriers" versus "warriors" reside. Seem Cali & the Northeast (most restrictive states) seem to have the most worries about what I do with my gun. By the way the screen IS LOCKED when in Valet mode. Not advocating one way or another on your choice to carry, already decided by an overwhelming majority of states. Again please don't flame anyone if you disagree, just answer (or not) the OP's question. We have a political/religion/flame on section here on our forum. Thank you for not jumping down my throat, just making an observation.

Do other car forums have so many threads about guns? Seems very weird to me.

Your gun, like my guns, should be in your hand, holster, or a locked safe. Your freakin' radio is none of those.
People leaving their guns where others can get at them keeps giving responsible gun owners a bad name. Is it your fault if someone breaks into your car and steals an unsecured gun? Yes, it is.
It would be pretty much impossible to commit a massacre like Florida with a gun that fit behind the radio screen. That's a rate of fire and capacity issue, and anything that fits behind the screen would have neither. So I see them as pretty far removed from one another, but your point is taken.

Seems like a good time in this country to give this kind of a discussion a little breather while the dust at least settles in Florida.

I know and I agree! That's one of the reasons we have literally millions of illegal firearms floating around out there. Also guns stolen out of night stands, that kind of nonsense.
In a world where a biometric gunvault runs $149 there's just no excuse for handguns in drawers.
Being responsible doesn't make me a "worrier" any more than owning a gun makes you some kind of "Warrior". But you do have a good point: the hidden compartment isn't the worst thing in the world because I think it remains locked if you smash the side window, so it's at least a 'little' secure. But not enough for my tastes.
I think this thread will go sideways shortly, so I'm out before the lock!

All that said, the hidden compartment isn't the worst thing in the world because I think it remains locked if you smash the side window, so it's at least a 'little' secure. But not enough for my tastes.

And BTW - size does not matter, caliber does not matter. Carry whatever you are most comfortable and profecent with. Having that gun on your person is much better than having a 45 in your radio storage bin or your safe at home.
