Is the paint peeling off on my 2018 374 mile Z06?

If you go to this thread, I posted all the pages that are in the Technical Service Bulletin. They didn’t shoot the whole nose or rear but blended it. Came out great and I had several people try and find any flaws. Couldn’t find any. The guy painting though has been painting for 40 years (he is 68 years old).

Let me know if you all have any questions. 10 months of fighting with Chevy though was complete BS! First domestic I bought too!

The 2019's are more consistent . Their are some 2015's 2018's with nice paint but plenty have somewhat less quality to poor. getting better as they went.
My 2017 has very nice job with minimum amount of Op and no issues. On par with the several 2019's I've seen . .

Are you sure GM paints the bumpers? Well my early 18 paint is pretty good, but it has plenty of other problems to make up for the paint.

One thing I can clearly see in my Tahoe is that panels that are too tight have developed this issue. I'll be asking the body shop to not tighten them too much after the repair.

I do not have this issue with my 2017 Z06 (knock on the wood!) but my 2018 Tahoe has developed these chips at multiple spots where panel meets. It's been 3 months going back and forth with my local Chevy dealership. They have finally agreed to pay for paint repair at a local body shop. Service manager even tried to argue with me this is not a manufacturing defect in anyway.

The issue is prep not panel tightness, but go ahead get wide ugly gaps at the panels.

No particular reason other than I had this thread saved to refer for the bulletin. I believe Chevy has some common issue with their manufacturing process that is impacting various brands and they are not ready to own the problem easily.

Interesting. Not many 2019 have reported this issue. I was lucky on my 17, 18, and 19 to not have this issue.

My 19 GS had the same problem, but thanks to these boards I had read about this problem and had the dealership fix it prior to me taking delivery. The dealership removed, repainted, and reinstalled the front fascia. Couldn't be happier with it and no problems 6200 miles and 6+ months later

I have heard of some 19s that also have the poor panel edge paint prep problem on this site. Always in the same location which would suggest that it is the way these particular panels are held by the jigs for painting. Could be some panels don't get enough dry time on the previous coat,. Could be the primer coat or the color coat that don't get enough time before the clear coat.
