Default Battery cover

My 2015 Z06 has a styrofoam cover over the battery. On the the top of it there is a cut out for what appears to be some kind of tool. What goes in there?

The space is for a tow hook which is an option on US C7s.

Thanks! I was thinking about installing tow hooks. I think they would look cool on a Z06, especially on mine which is Arctic White.

Unfortunately it was not available on the '14s.

^^^
People without tow hooks often use that place to store the funnel.
I have a hook so I keep the funnel in a ziplock bag in the cubby, funnel can also be used if you have to add oil away from home.
Before buying a hook, verify that the front & rear receivers are installed. OP should have them but sometimes...

FWIW, the GM toe-hook is "cheap looking" and expensive. You can buy a much better one made by ZL1 Addons.

I also bought one for the rear that looks like the ZL1, strictly for show. It is made from aluminum and has the proper thread. It's designed for a small foreign car and fits the rear as that only needs to be short. I Paid less than $15 on eBay for it where the ZL1 Addons and GM cost over $100!

Took my Grand Sport to one car show when it was new! it won a trophy BUT last time I would bring it as my Street Rod that usually goes "and brings home a trophy" was upset when I pulled into the garage!

Frankly other than at a Car Show the toe hook looks silly, IMO. Note the ZL1 hook does NOT fit in the recess in the battery cover only the "cheap looking" GM all steel hook (which looks like an oversized "eye" hook!) I keep my ZL1 in the rear compartment.
