Who mounts Corvette tires

FINDING Good TIRE CHANGER
Well basically you need to find SOMEONE regardless of where they work, that can do a good job on these wider wheel and tire combinations. The HUNTER machine mentioned can install a tire or remove a tire WITHOUT anything ever TOUCHING the rim.
We use DISCOUNT tire but there is only ONE individual that we will let do the tire changes. When he changes to another DISCOUNT TIRE, we FOLLOW him. We make the manager aware that some of these wheels can cost 2-3000 dollars to replace if gets damaged and thats why most tire shops wont touch them.
GO to this website:
https://www.hunter.com/
CLICK ON CONNECT with YOUR HUNTER team which is about halfway down the page AFTER you enter your zip code. This will give you the HUNTER sales rep in your area.
CALL HIM and ask for the dealers in your area that have the HUNTER REVOLUTION tire changer.

I've run into the same issue in this major metropolitan area. What they generally say around here is that they cannot guarantee no wheel damage. That actually happened at a Tire Rack recommended installer, which was listed as able to handle large wheel sizes when I purchased an AS3+ set for my C7. I had them drop-shipped there, and that's what they told me when I arrived. I picked them up and took them elsewhere.
Dealers who sell more than a few Corvettes have the Hunter machines that will handle C7-sized tires, so that's who I use. They've promised no damage or they are responsible. They have been more than happy for me to bring a set of wheels and tires I purchased elsewhere for mounting and balancing.

Melting Slicks
Discount Tires isn't nationwide. They do not have a presence in the Northeast.

I'm assuming you use Criswell for mounting your tires? Wish I would've gone to them instead of the shop in Baltimore that my mechanic buddy recommended. They bent the hell out of one of my Forgeline VX1's. Wound up having to have another one made because it couldn't be balanced to a safe level. Last time I talked to the Corvette tech at Criswell he said he was completely confident that he could do the job without any damage. Ordered these wheels about a year ago and still haven't been able to enjoy them.
I also agree it's probably more important who is using the machine. I think that's the main problem at most tire shops.

WOW--NTB plugged and patched the rear tire on my 2015 Z51 dismounting the tire to do it, and had no problem. When it was time for new tires, I took it to the same shop that does my Porsche tire mounting and balancing. Haven't scuffed a rim yet, and don't expect to. Find out who Porsche, Ferrari and other high end sports car owners use in your area--should not be an issue. And that said, I would run, not walk away from any shop that cannot guaranty they won't scratch your rims. That tells me they either don't have the right equipment or the "nut" on the other end of the machine being used, doesn't know what he's doing.

Again, just like dealers, not all shops of the same branding are the same, and they vary in terms of employee experience, training, and equipage. We've heard accounts of the ever-popular Discount Tire screwing up wheels as well.
I'm willing to pay a little more at a Chevrolet dealer that I know sells and services a fair number of C7s simply because they have no excuse, and you can more easily extract a promise that they will repair or replace any damage they cause.

In the Louisville area check with Evolution Autosport to see if they would mount tires for you. They do track vehicles. Same with The Winning Formula also in Louisville.

Burning Brakes
Going through the same exact issue. Had Tire Rack send the tires to NTB (National Tire and Battery) NTB doesn't have the machine. I'm taking the tires to Kerbeck next week for installation. (I even called NTB to make sure they could do it first...uninformed employee said they could...Manager confirmed they couldn't).
if you think of going there, ask for Eric Vandenberg. He knows the C7 and a great guy to work with.

For those in SoCal, I use California Chrome. They are totally awesome! They do everything from chrome to high-end powder coating to custom wheels to mounting and balancing.
I had a set of TSW's powder-coated there and they mounted and balanced my Michelin 4S tires recently. They send a van to where I work to pick the wheels and tires up and then deliver them to me when they're done, no charge. They do a fabulous job on finishes and mounting. Not a mark on any wheel. They know how to handle expensive wheels and only use Hunter road-force balancing machines. Plus, they charge less than America's tire.
I put them on the car this morning.
The powder-coating process they use is, by far, the highest quality one I have ever seen. The finish is amazingly smooth.

My local dealership sends them to a nearby high end tire shop to do theirs. This shop swapped my wheels out a few months ago and I watched them do them and they are a handful for two men. Hardest part was getting them to seal. Took about 1.5 hrs to do two.

I am going to take it to the dealer since I have to get the rear axle leak fixed. I planned on doing all this Friday but it has been raining here for 3 straight days and I don't want my car to melt.
Did anyone have a good NoVa shop near Manassas or any experience with Koons Manassas Chevy?
Dealer wanted $150.
