Deposit On A New 2019 GS or Z06 - Mike Furman
I just sent a deposit to Mike Furman at Criswell Chevrolet as he has been great with me over the last 6 months and looking to have delivery by August 1 for Carlisle PA at the end of August. Now deciding on which model to go with and been doing research as own a C5 and will keep that car. Mike has invited me out at some point to take a drive with both cars and decide and look forward to it. I do know I am going Torch Red and black wheels and love the red interior inside as really want that but worried to much red but my thoughts on all is get why you like....I have been on the Corvette Forum for around 20 years and love it and great people with great info.
Thanks
Tom

Same handling capabilities so it just comes down to does that extra power mean anything to you when you drive around town or at the track (if you plan to).
If you go with red exterior, I would go with black interior with red trim. All red interior with red exterior just looks a bit much. But that's just me. Either car will be great.

Maybe a silly question but why did you put a deposit down when you don't even know what you want?

All 3 are awesome
all 3 models are awesome in its own right..stingray, gs, zo6.. oh, forgot the 4th ZR1. I may be biased but I will still throw my 2 cents in because I love all cars. If you plan on keeping the car for an extended time- why not just go ahead and purchase the Z06? There are some REALLY great deals out there. Plus you will avoid the topic that I see on this forum soooo many times of people often buying the GS then months down the road wishing they just pulled the trigger and got the z06. The above post was spot on about your intention with the car.. but I also believe that personality plays a big role in that decision as well. Me, I am still a young guy, a Chief Warrant Officer 3 in the Marine Corps, dominate personality, and like to pull up at the drag strip, AutoX, or even at a red light and know I have a true beast. Yes they will always be something faster, stronger, and better, but the Z06 fits my personality and wants. At the end of the day, it is still a car and either of them will make you Super Happy.

Funny as wanted to get something to Mike at the dealership as I do better giving the dealer something every month so I have a bigger deposit and not spending it on other things..Always done on every car I bought plus it will get me to push the button to get a little earlier and maybe go for theZ06. Just my way I have done on my last 6 cars and probably a head scratcher to some..being funny

Well, Capt Fury, I can think of 3 reasons why not to get the Z06. Not everybody needs a Z06. 1) I am retired and in my late 60s. I do not need a supercharged 700HP machine, 2) a supercharged race car doesn’t do you much good when you’re stuck in mid-town Manhatten most of the day and, 3) not everyone can afford 80K+ for an automobile. If I recall, the Stingray and GS each outsell the Z06. There are probably other reasons as well for this as well. Nothing wrong with getting a Z06. But as they say, different strokes for different folks.

I just went through this. I test drove: Z06 vs GS. M7 vs A8. Comp seats vs Standard. Ceramic Rotors vs. Iron.
This was all arranged by Joey at Criswell . After spending 1/2 day test driving the variations I sat down with Joey and ordered the car I wanted.
2019 GS M7 Standard seats and the optional Ceramic rotor brakes
I felt the standard 460 hp/465 lb. torque was plenty of usable power. The Z06 was overkill for me.(you could always go aftermarket after your warranty runs out.)
The M7 was just more engaging to drive for me.(pilot vs driver)
Standard seats were more comfortable on my back.
Carbon Ceramic Brakes were the, oh what the hell, option. More fragile, way more money, less dust, and less unsprung weight.
My car wont be a DD, but it sure wont be a garage Queen. It will be driven often, see some track time.Even a few cross-country drives are planned!

OP, It all comes down to what you want at the end of the day. I purchased a 2019 Z06/Z07 and added the SC757. I purchased my car from Mike Criswell. He guided me, but the decision was all mine. I went with the Z06, based on my previous experiences with other muscle cars. Basically, I found myself upgrading the cars to get more HP. I decided to go for the top dog while i had the money on this purchase. Do it once and do it right was my rational. Whatever you decide, you cant go wrong with eiter option. Good luck!

I miss my C5 now...
Excellent news bud. YOU CANNOT GO WRONG, and in the end you will have two amazing vettes. I would personally go Z06 if the money didn't matter, but the GS is closer to my budget.
CONGRATULATIONS.

If you have the money go with the Z06! If you have the money and don't want the Z06 go for the GS or Stingray all C7'S are great Corvettes!

Get the Z06.In 3 or 4 months, after the initial excitement wears off, you're gonna think maybe I need a little more power. There is no comparison between the Stingray/GS vs the Z06. The Stingray/GS are very fast cars and the Z06 is EXPLOSIVELY fast and will hook up. One trip in a Z06 will be all it takes to know the difference.

In the end, buy what you want, however if you're set on Torch Red, give the black suede interior with red stitching a look. Maybe even add the red seat belts. I love that combo!

I had a 2014 Torch red with a red interior, I liked it so much that I got it again 205 Z06. I went from chrome to black wheels. GM didn't offer the 2 tone red /black seats in 2015 if they did I would have got them because the red bolsters do get dirty.
Good Luck
