Thinking about trading my Z51 for Grand Sport
so I have a 17 z51 1lt. Beautiful car but from day one I second guess myself about not getting the 2lt. Am I crazy trading in for a 2lt grand sport just for the step up in trim.

Yes, you're crazy, but it won't be the first time people have done that. It's your decision, not ours.

With what you get in a GS for the price over a z51 is a no brainer.2lt. is another story about personal preference.Do some comparisons.
It is gonna cost ya.Might be better to private sell your z51.You will see.
Good luck

Would never get just a 1LT, but that is me, HUD, memory seats to help entry and exit, front camera and the rear subwoofer are well worth the price.
When I got my September 2013 built Z51 was concerned about the extra power and especially the higher toque with the aid of variable cam timing versus my C6 Z51 that had the same width tires. Granted Michelin has done a great job with the OEM tires but had to have wider ones that fit the power so sold it and bought a Grand Sport 2LT. Couldn't be more pleased!

Do what makes you happy and move on. Fretting about a couple thousand dollars is pointless in the big picture. It's only $$ and it will be replaced. The feeling of satisfaction you get from driving what you WANT is where you should be. If you are asking if the car is much better than the Z51... well, no, not really. Looks a little different but for all intents and purposes they are more alike than not. And I own a Grand Sport.

If it's in your range I'd say do it in a second! I certainly would...

We humans....
....have the gift of rationalizing many of our actions but maybe few/none better than doing so to purchase that which we don't need but want; having said that if it's in your wheel house financially and you're not taking away food from your dog, cat or other loved ones....well you know the rest

IMO, that it not enough of an upgrade for the money it will cost. Are you really missing the heated/vented seats and HUD? The subwoofer is not worth it, the visor with garage door opener can be added for a couple hundred bucks. The wide body look is cool but not for that much money.
Maybe dig deeper and get a Z06 or something so it feels like more of an upgrade?

Yes do it but make sure you won't want a 3LZ Z06 next!

I feel the same as some have said. Not worth the time and money unless I go for the zo6. That’s what I would really like but the 2lz maybe more than I should spend right now. Not going to rush into anything. If I find the right deal I will.

But for the time being, I'm more than content with my '16 Z51 torch red convertible.

If trading up from the Stingray to GS, I could understand if you really wanted the wide-body. Trading up from 1LT to 2LT, Yep that's kind of crazy.
What feature of the 2LT is so important to you to burn all that $$$ in the trade?

Not happy with what you have? Like the looks of the gs better? Have disposable cash now? If the answer to all 3 is yes, then do it. Otherwise, wait until you decide to trade for a newer model, perhaps the c8.

Nothing crazy about it. If you get one with all the goodies, you'll never have to second guess. My 17 GS 3LT is my perfect car. Never even think about an option I don't have. My only consideration was whether to get Stingray or GS based solely on availability of tires in 19 in rears vs. 20s. Now Michelin is coming out with AS3s in GS sizes so I'm good to go.

Get the car you want and that makes you happy that you CAN afford. I kinda settled on my 3LT NPP NAV non-z51 car since the deal was too good to pass up. I "may" (90% sure, lol) sell it later in the year and get a z51 car.
