10 Minute fix To Lower Unsightly Passenger Windshield Wiper Arm
There is not much I have found unpleasing in the styling, looks, and performance on the C7, with one small exception. Namely, I have always disliked the look, from both the interior of the C7, as well as the exterior, of the passenger side windshield wiper arm, which kind of just sticks out there. So, with the help of a buddy of mine, we set out to see if there was a way to fix this issue. It was surprisingly easy to do, and, only took about 10 minutes, start to finish. Here is what we did:
1. Remove the rectangular plastic cap that sits atop the passenger windshield wiper arm. Use a thin, narrow knife of blade. This will expose the nut that holds the wiper arm in place.
2. Disconnect the windshield wiper washer hose. It just pulls out from it's nipple by the base of the wiper arm.
3. Take off the exposed nut. This will allow the wiper arm to lift off. If the wiper arm, like mine was, is seated, put the nut back on rather loosely and rap the nut lightly with a ball peen hammer. This will loosen up the wiper arm to where it will lift off easily.
4. Replace the wiper arm at a lower setting. It can only be lowered so far.
5. Reattach the wiper arm nut, the washer hose, and the plastic cap cover, and you are done.
Below are photos of the finished results, which I personally, find much more appealing.

Looks good.
Did you test the wipers afterwards to see if there is any bottoming out or rubbing?

That would be my concern as I made a similar adjustment on a C3 sometime back and seemed to work ok until it rained hard a couple weeks latter and the blade started banging like heck.

Yes, before reattaching everything, we ran the wipers. You will get some bumping of the wiper arm against the rubber cowling enclosing the windshield wiper area under the hood,at the wiper arm's lowest setting, but, not very dramatic at all. From the interior of the vehicle, it is hardly noticeable. From my personal point of view, a worthwhile trade off. But, as with everything, to each his/her own. It's your car, so do, or don't do, to quote Yoda. There is no try.

UPDATE to this Post: N. California, where I live, received over 1 inch of rain yesterday. The lowered passenger side windshield wiper arm, with the unmodified driver's side windshield piper arm, worked like a charm. No problems at all. I can't tell you how nice it is to drive my C7 and NOT see any windshield wiper arms out of my windshield, just the smooth contours of my C7's hood. What a difference.

To be honest I never noticed which means it’s not an issue for me.

Not sure exactly what it is you are asking. There is no lapse in the wipers' coverage of the windshield..ie there are no gaps in wiping away the rain on the windshield. If I didn't answer your question, ask me again what it is you are wanting to know. I can, if you want, post a pic of the wiper blades stopped in the full up position.

I’ve actually done this on other cars where the passenger side was way up, but don’t find that it’s obtrusive on the C7. Nonetheless, it’s always good to read about other’s OCD...

OK, now I understand your question. You can only lower the passenger side windshield wiper arm about 2 1/2 to 3 inches. So yes, I suppose the passenger side wiper arm is not cycling upward completely on that side by the amount you have lowered the arm, from where it was set originally when delivered.

Well some garage queens can just remove the wipers all together...
But I have noticed it in my hours of admiring the car.. I look at it this way.. Sometimes I take the car out a little dirty.. Not once has anyone said.. Wow your cars dirty or I see a chip right there.. They just praise the car on how beautiful it is.. So what I see as an issue is most likely not seen by others...

Ha, unless you have a "friendly" neighbor like mine, who always points out everything he sees on my 3 sports cars (67 Corvette Convertible, 2006 PCA Club Coupe and 2015 C7)!
One day when I'd had enough of that crap, I looked him square in the eye, and told him, 'do you really think there's one chip, spot or fleck on any of my cars I don't know about or see? Only a jerk nit picks a guy's cars--a little like doing the same thing to his lady. And lastly, where's your cool car? Oh, you don't have any, that's right'.
Shut him up on the spot

Just did it.. Sweet... I didn't need to remove the rubber hose, just loosened the nut and turned the arm down about 2" and re-tightened.
Still not 100% concealed, but looks much better!
Thanks for the tip!
