Default 2019 Grand Sport question

Have an opportunity to purchase a 2019 Grand Sport, Watkins Glenn Grey, Adrenalin red interior, 8 speed auto, etc. The VIN is 0001. Not sure if it could potentially become a collector car. I would assume it would appreciate in value due to it being the first 2019 off the line but not banking on it. I love the color combination, plan on driving it, but keeping it as pristine as possible. Welcome your thoughts.

I highly doubt any C7 will appreciate and be a collector car in our lifetime. If you like the car, buy it for what it is.

Sounds like a very nice GS, that you will enjoy, but I wouldn't purchase it on the assumption it will appreciate in value.

Just buy it. My 2019 Grand Sport came off the line the 1st week in February. Long Beach Red with the 7 speed manual. Your color combination is beautiful. You'll be happy you bought it.

Virtually all cars depreciate unless they are Ferraris.

Nice car, but it’ll take 50+ years to appreciate as an #0001 car for investment purposes, especially since it’s not the first MY C7 GS, but certainly cool nonetheless. Enjoy and congrats

You'll be paying ten grand for that VIN if it is for sale at MSRP which is being heavily discounted at the big dealerships.

If the dealership is using the VIN to prop up the price to anything close to MSRP (or above), I'd move on and save the $$$ elsewhere.

Really, the only "new" domestic car that didn't fall on it's face when drove off the lot was the 05's generation of the Ford GT

Still kicking myself for not buying one.

That investment would of been better than any IRA. Average price now is 400-500k

Too many built looking about the same since August 2013 to now to be a “collector car.” Now maybe the ZR1 as the last high horse power front engine Vette!

No, IMHO. The first car of the generation or special and limited production, maybe...

001 Barret - Jackson auction sells these at crazy prices.
There are people that want that number!

The only C7's selling at crazy prices at Barrett Jackson are the first car of each model. The first convertible, the first Z06, the First Grand Sport. The first of a new model year that is virtually identical to the prior model year has no additional value.

AND...they are always for Charity...changing the price dramatically (driven by wealthy egos)...and that's great for the Charities.

Barrett-Jackson has a lot of fake bidders to drive the price up.

I wouldn't expect 2019 GS Vin #00001 to worth any more than VIN #00002 or VIN #22158. If it were VIN #00001 in 2017, which is the first GS, it would be more valuable.
Now as VIN #00001 with only 2-3 miles on it (never used), it might be worth a lot more in 30-40 years, mostly because it has 2-3 miles on it.

Kind if exciting to have this opportunity to purchase this VIN numbered C7 if it is exactly the car in terms of specs that you want, then by all means go for it. If for investment only, the chances of making money as with any car is highly unlikely.
