I asked the same thing earlier as I would like to get additional detail on the fixes and what makes the Z06 less likely to have problems.
Some have mentioned that many of the A8 issues were limited to the Stingray due to faulty torque converters, however I have three friends in the same zip code (FL) who have 2015-2017 Z06s and all three have had A8 repairs and/or replacements. I also know two other owners who have A8 Z06s and they have had no issues, however 3 of 5 in one small demographic sample is something I can't overlook. Unless we can blame the humidity.

The "buy a Cadillac A8," is excellent advise. It shows compassion. Some seem ashamed of their C7, A8 purchases here.

good information...it's Allen, right? not sure I got your name right....we talked way back when I had a C5. This is just the kind of info I need...I have a perfect 7-speed C7 right now, and I don't need a new set of problems. But it would be nice if that 10-speed ends up being the next generation auto trans for corvette.

The A8 has been problematic - even when before it's broken. My neighbor just bought a new GMC Denali 4-door pickup. He complained that the A8 in his pickup is; "always searching for the right gear." -I'm certainly no transmission expert, but this signals to me something to avoid.

Used manuals are harder to find than new ones are on dealer lots, which is difficult enough, because only a little over 20% production is manual and dealers don't order many for stock. My '14 convertible Z51 M7 trade-in a month ago didn't last a week on Criswell's used car lot even in February in MD.
There are enough people who want manuals that they will chase the few that are available. In fact, since they are likely to go away soon, manual sports cars will likely become increasingly attractive in the wake of their demise. Once new ones are no longer offered, they'll become even more attractive.

I didn't read what anyone said, but I can tell you the auto takes years off your life.

I could have sworn it just makes one more lazy and torpid.

Does anyone think Ferrari or Lamborghini drivers are less just because they are not manuals? Don’t be silly.

Jokes are silly. It was a joke. Take deep breaths . . . now relax. Isn't that better?

I had A8 and now M7. I like both. In some ways the A8 was more fun.

The actual part numbers may be on the board somewhere but the primary changes/differences for the Z that made it solid are the torque converter and the clutch packs. Both are stronger in the Z and seem to prevent whatever failure is plaguing the Stingray.

Based on my perception of endorphins being released just thinking about driving my M7, I can report that the physiological experience when driving the M7, is indeed over the top analgesically!
