Ask the seller for the reason and if they know why the other sold it. Take it for a test drive. Lots of reasons... could of traded for a manual, z06, different color Vette, different car and also could have issues GM wouldn't fix to look at it from a negative side. Another idea... hire Columbo

Could be just one of those things but why chance it. There are plenty of one owner C7s available for sale.

Found today a 2016 Vette at CarMax that had 3 owners 6100 miles. No accidents or anything negative. You need to understand the these cars are big boy toys, they are wants not needs. Many just outgrow them quickly because they are not practical and the owner needs changed.

When the Z06 came out a lot of people unloaded their existing C7's to trade up. For us, we had a 2016 for 13 months and only put 599 miles on it. It was my wife's car. She was diagnose with cancer and it just sat, so we sold it.

1st owner had a torque convertor failure, 2nd had a warble, 3rd will get to do the convertor again and maybe the 4th will get a diff for the uncured warble...

I wouldn't purchase a C7 that had 3 owners in less than 18 months as there's just too
many good deals out there on really nice C7s to take a risk as to the circumstances surrounding the car changing ownership so frequently.

Find out if they were actually owners or just the title changing hands as it went through auction, etc. Carfax can be misleading sometimes if you don't dig not the details.

I wouldn't let multiple owners of a Corvette stop me from buying a used Vette. No matter how many owners, one or five, get a copy of the VIS report from a GM dealer, preferably Chevrolet and have a mechanic or service writer go over it with you even if you have to pay for it. If the car has had no problems, use the three owner fact as a bargaining chip. If the VIS report indicates multiple problems or a major failure that you're uncomfortable with, don't buy it. It's just that simple.
My C5 was purchased with four previous owners and now it's on #6, so what. These cars are toys for many of us. Some like to change their toys frequently. It's no big deal with a Corvette. If this was a Chevy Cruze I'd say run away, but with a Corvette, no big deal.

Yes, Corvettes are toys to some to be discarded on a whim, however (3) owners in just 16 months is extreme should not only raise a red flag but that red flag should be waving extensively. Again, just too many great C7s at great prices out there to be spending time considering why 3 owners quickly dumped this C7.

Before I would plop the cash down I would want to know a lot more about why so many owners in a short period of time. It may be easily explained, but worth digging into. As said, plenty of one owner C7s out there to choose from.

Too many fish in the corvette sea to be concerned with one that could have issues.

While rational reasons explaining frequent turnover are stated, above?
Might be owners fed-up w/ the weirdness dealer(s) c/wouldn't fix, too.
On this one story's in a GMVIS, or not.

OP,
Curiosity or my investigator/auditor background got the better of me so I looked up the Carfax and read it carefully. Carfax does a terrible job of filtering out dealer transactions that result in the car being registered. Autocheck is better at this than Carfax. The second "Owner" "Owned" this vette for 1 month. It looks to me like this was a dealer transaction that resulted in issuance of a new registration. Either that or someone purchased the car, it was registered in Arizona, then their financing fell through or for some reason they cancelled the purchase. This is exactly what happened with my C5 before I bought it. Someone "owned" it, but actually never took possession because their financing fell through. According to Carfax, they "owned" it for a few weeks, then I bought it. Autocheck recognized this was not an owner and did not record it. That's why sometimes there is a difference between the two reports with regard to the number of owners. I didn't check Autocheck for this Corvette, but you should to see if it agrees with Carfax.
At any rate, this is really a two owner car, not a three owner car. Still, I wouldn't buy it without a thorough inspection by a Corvette dealer and a complete review of the VIS report. Of greater concern to me was the two real owners, only kept the car for a few months. I can see one owner changing their mind and selling it quickly, but two in a row, is a little concerning.
