Looks like 50/50 debate. I say keep the GS. Great looking car. Depends what color you like better. I’ve never driven a Z06.

My question is why did you purchase the GS to begin with rather than a Z06? There had to be a good reason for it and likely still a valid reason to keep the GS rather than getting a Z06.

From what I can tell the C7 powertrain was built for up to 700, the Z06 puts out 650, the Z06 Supercharger will actually get a bit more in the standard engine due to a higher compression ratio. Must of had something to do with emissions? Who know.\s. Check "Weapon X" they do a lot of modifications and I am getting the kit that brings the eaton supercharge from the Z06 to my Z51 engine. I am expecting around 650 HP but they 2 other stages for even more horse power (I do not what or need to hit the 700 hp zone). I love my Z51 but want the Z06 power, I do not really care for the extra wide body ( just my pref.).
I suggest you study this possibility. I would of gotten a Z06 if I had 100k laying around, I like the Z-51 package and the 3LT package )its just more refined). Plus I like to have a car that stands out from the pack at car shows and with this setup it will, a real sleeper! LMAO

That's basically even up-go for the Z06.

I'd just keep the GS.

I like the fact that when I want to accelerate in certain gears, there’s no need for me to down shift. The Zo6 torque is always available and also it is useful at the track. I could take an earlier suggestion and just throw a lt4 blower on my Grand Sport.

I'd sooner buy/upgrade to the ZO6, but not at the sacrifice of downgrading to the 1LZ. Keep shopping/looking.

You've done the math on it. I commend your foresight on an upgrade. In the meantime, think C8 thoughts. That might temper making a rash decision/move now.

Keep in mind that, although the Z06 has a lot of power under the hood, it is unlikely that you will ever know the true power of the Z06 unless you track the car on the weekends etc. I have a 2LZ Z06 and I love it, but driving on the streets is hectic because other people driving tend to do stupid things on the highway or wherever else. A 1LT optioned Z06 is most likely purposed for track driving (I think it still has the HUD as well), but it will be a bare bones interior that you may like early on, but then wish you had the options your GS had. In summary, I would stick with the GS because I'm just guessing that you haven't even appreciated the power of the GS LT4 engine. It is indeed a beast.

Not correct. I prefer the 1LT.

I own a 2015 and wouldn't go below a 2016. And I wouldn't go down to 1LZ. And I'd have a hard time swapping two years of depreciation for a blower, even though that might actually be a fair trade.

Lite Speed,
Don't forget to add warranty costs into the equation because you're going back in years. Also, if the 2015 B2B warranty has expired, I'd pass, especially if it has an A8. I wouldn't hesitate to buy an A8, but I'd want it under full warranty just in case.

What's the cost to you to trade? You can always add a supercharger and fan to the GS if you really need that extra H/P. I'd keep the GS!
